2013 Bioscience Admission and Interviews

I found out last year I’m not competitive for Neuro. This year I applied to BMS and Biology there. Good luck to you on your other schools. I haven’t heard from any yet…

Your stats are better than mine (GPA and more research experience), so you have a better chance than I did! I’ve gotten 2 rejections (probably 3) from my 11 schools, so I feel your anxiety. Let’s all hang in there.

Scared i’m hallucinating. I swear that an hour ago there was a post from someone who works in the medical center and saw the signs for the BBS adcomm meeting.

@bostonbio - do you have insights into when the invites will be sent.

@edukimi: there was a post, but I guess it was deleted… I saw it, too, so don’t worry lol

I used to tech at harvard so I know for a fact that they are meeting today (know grad students on the committee) and the offers should be out by the middle of next week.

Does anyone know what the story is with Yales MMPP bbs track?

@bassish101 - thank you for letting me know you saw it as well :)

MIT invite!!! Wooo!!! omg so excited! :)

@bassish101 and @ edukimi: Sorry, it did get deleted. I’m new here (as shown by my Jan Join Date) and probably did something wrong. But Yes… I work in the Longwood Medical Area (Harvard Med). I saw signs pointing to where the adcomm is meeting. That’s all I know.

@Fishscience: I recieved a Yale MMPP invite on Dec. 13th. However, I’m quite sure that they slowly leak out their invites.

Let say that out of all the schools you guys apply to you only get accepted into one. Its probably in your bottom 2 and you just applied to the school for the hell of it. Would you guys still go? or decline and reapply next year?

CONGRATS bassish!!!

Thanks! :)

@bassish: Was it an email from a professor, or a generic one from the department?

Thanks @bostonbio. I guess I’ll give up hope on them then.

It was personalized on the top of the message with my name and whatnot, but the rest seemed to be generic. It was signed by the co-directors of the biology graduate program. Good luck!

Still waiting anxiously for any word!

Invited to interview at Columbia (January 18-20), Yale (February 7-10), Hopkins (March 7-10), and UC Berkeley (February 12-14).

No word from the other 4 yet.

@protein folding, very nice profile.

Still wonder if anyone got interview from Yale immunology track?

Harvard MCB Interview Offer! Whoa!

It conflicts with my UCBerkeley dates, though!

Huge congrats to Erbbie3!!! Also got a call from Duke molecular microbiology program and was invited for the Feb7-9 interview weekend.
