PS- Was wondering if people could read my other post regarding applying to more grad schools…?

Is anyone going to Weill-Cornell next week? Are you guys wearing suits since its at a medical institute? I have heard for certain institutions it’s standard to wear a suit.

I’ve been wearing dress pants and a nice shirt to my interviews, so I don’t want to stand out if everyone is wearing a suit at Weill-Cornell.

Congrats!
How was the interview?

When did you get the invite for Weill Cornell?

I got the invite on Jan 17th. The interview is next week Feb 13th -15th, I’m pretty sure it’s for all graduate programs.

Thanks for the info. I guess if I didn’t hear anything, it means that I was rejected.

@Merohedral: I haven’t heard back from Weill either, I had to call them 4 times to get a straight answer but the lady I talked to last basically said “I have the interview list, your not on it so assume a rejection.” So it’ll be double painful to get the official rejection email.

Give em a call, maybe your case is different than mine.

I don’t know why they don’t send a mass rejection e-mail. It’s very easy to do, and it’s the least they can do for the application fees that we pay.

Sorry, my post was directed at ulysses

Congrats!
How was the interview?

@biotechstudent I’m going to Weill Cornell next week. Not sure about the attire either. But I most probably will not be wearing a suit.

@jeffklm Thanks! I emailed the program assistant, if she lets me know I’ll give you a heads up. :)

does harvard bbs notify students in several waves? were most students from last year accepted via phone or email?

I’m pretty sure it depends on which adcom member is responsible for notifying you. I’ve heard that some will notify you early, but otherwise most people will hear in one wave via email.

@it’s good to hear that most people hear back via email…the waiting part is such a pain

Boston is snowed in, so maybe ad com members who meant to call on Friday might not have been able to because they have to work through the snowstorm first :)

Do you guys know about how many people will be accepted to Harvard bbs?

@micro2012
i wonder if the snowstorm would delay the emails too since people might not be able to get to work on Monday…anyways, i’m not sure how many people will be accepted…didn’t they have a very large entering class last year? hopefully they won’t accept fewer people because of that

I think if you had good interviews then everything will be fine. They’ll probably call before next weekend because the second batch of students is coming I think you get a call right? No email?

I don’t think anybody will have trouble getting in on Monday, but pretty much everybody in Boston has been stuck in their homes from yesterday afternoon through today. Harvard officially ceased operations at noon yesterday (before the subway and all MA roads closed around 4pm), and I think the medical school might have been closed all day.
