Many public universities had sizable changes in market value relative to 2012. In addition to the public institutions already listed in the top 20, the following publics were in the top 40:

Rank Institution 2013 Endowment Funds ($000s) Change in Market Value (%)

Penn State’s 66% change was attributed to a reclassification of quasi-endowment funds. Ohio State’s 33% change wasn’t attributed to any restatements, so it was all the more impressive.

Do you have the numbers for the PPE rather than just the total endowment?

^ The NACUBO FAQ page includes the following statement:

Page not Found;

It’s easy enough (though tedious) to calculate the endowment per student, but too bad it apparently isn’t included in any of the public pages.

UC system and individual campus foundation endowments are compiled here:
http://www.ucop.edu/investment-office/_files/report/UC_Annual_Endowment_Report_FY2012-2013.pdf

2013 Numbers:

Berkeley + UCSF = $5,048,384,000
Berkeley = $3,330,552,000
UCLA = $2,810,319,000
UCSF = $1,717,832,000
Davis = $790,060,000
San Diego = $642,605,000
Irvine = $323,608,000
Santa Barbara = $226,034,000
Riverside = $148,777,000
Santa Cruz = $125,246,000
Merced = $30,009,000

UC System = $1,081,590,000

The figures from the UC system do not include individual campus’?

The UC System figure of $1B says it’s for “Systemwide Programs and Administration”.

UC’s state approrpriations are budgeted to increase 5% in the 2014-2015 fiscal year and 4% in 2015 and 2016.

Any reason the list doesn’t include WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, A look in Wisconsin’s regenerative medicine excellence at the 2018 Regenerative Medicine Innovation Awards - WARF, in the Wisconsin total? That would add another 2b or so.

WARF is considered too independent and not part of the NACUBO data. Also UW Madison owns bout 90% of UWSystem’s $400 Million. Also a few other small funds floating around.
