@disneygirl321 I’m also a 4-year transfer… UC-UC! >_< Hoping I get in! I got in as a freshman, silly me. I don’t know what I was thinking not choosing SD!

How hard is revelle college? I randomly picked my colleges . Iv’e been hearing some bad things about it but I would assume that for transfer students with Igetc its different. Does anyone know?

^ it is geared toward math and science majors. The requirements are crazy, I mean really insane. The school doesn’t even tell you what IGETC transfers need, because I believe your courses are evaluated. I picked Warren, and I only need 2 courses to complete. Did you get into Revelle? Are you strong in the math and sciences?

IGETC Plus Requirements for Transfer Students to Revelle College:

Revelle College welcomes students who transfer to UCSD with IGETC Certification, but Revelle does not accept IGETC as satisfaction of all its general education requirements. Students must complete the following additional general education requirements, either before transfer or while enrolled at UCSD:

Calculus Requirement: IGETC requires one semester of math. Revelle requires 2 semesters (or 3 quarters) of calculus. Science and engineering majors complete these as prerequisite to any science or engineering major. Non-science majors can take a calculus track for non-science majors.

Science Requirement: IGETC requires two semesters (or 3 quarters) of science. Revelle requires a minimum of five quarters specifically in chemistry, physics and biology (see articulation agreements on http://www.assist.org for details). Science and engineering majors usually complete these as prerequisites to their majors. These may be additional requirements for non-science majors.

Language Proficiency Requirement: Revelle requires a 3rd semester or 4th quarter of college level language to meet this requirement. In some cases, bilingual students can pass proficiency by taking a proficiency test. AP scores of 3, 4, or 5 in Foreign Literature or of 4 or 5 in Foreign Language will meet this requirement. A score of 700 or higher on the SAT Subject Test in a foreign language will also meet this requirement.

In addition, you must complete a major, earn at least 60 upper-division units and have a total of 184 units to graduate from Revelle College UCSD.

^ yes , I got into Revelle college. Iv’e taken a ton of science classes already, however math i’ve only currently taken psych 270. I tried to avoid math, guess there is no avoiding it know. It’s all good though. I heard it’s extremely hard to switch colleges, any truth to that? Thank you for the information.

Transfer students are allowed to switch colleges. The process involves completing at least one quarter at UCSD, and then filling out a petition that if you switch colleges, you will graduate significantly earlier.

I am in the same position. I am an economics major and was placed into Revelle. I am desperately trying to get out though! Staying in Revelle would delay my graduation by atleast a year.

I am coming from a CSU and I have not heard anything yet. the only thing that has happened with me, is that UC Davis requested confirmation from me about completing the amount of units i said i would by the end of this spring semester.

Anybody else annoyed that we have to take GE classes at UCSD? I’m not looking forward to taking a “writing intensive course” for Marshall

Anybody else also annoyed that a lot of people are still waiting forever for a decision from UCSD?

UC "S"low "D"ecisions

^ That was cute, I laughed

Maybe someone who was rejected can post a link to the appeal form and we can try to figure out some kind of way around waiting.

Do they release more on this weekend? or we have to wait till 20th?

@hopingtoxfer… it made me LOL… i<3

I got my admitted students day letter thing in the mail earlier this week. I have been accepted to UCSD international studies-political science major in Roosevelt College. However, I am torn between UCSD and Cal Poly SLO (poli-sci w/ global politics concentration)

Both are great schools but UCSD is just so far away from where I live (norcal).

Anyone else accepted to International Studies major or college of Roosevelt?

What is taking so long? It seems like they are really slow on decisions this year we’ve got about 2 weeks left and there really isn’t all that many acceptances on this thread.

So when I go to this link https://act.ucsd.edu/studentAddresses/campusEmail I get a UCSD campus email. People earlier on in the thread said it might not really mean I’m in or not… But just curious as to what everyone sees when they log in? Mine says

Your UCSD E-mail address is: j****@ucsd.edu

You can give this address to family, friends and associates. Official campus E-mail will also be sent to this address. You will be responsible for all such notices.
E-mail sent to your UCSD address is delivered to a destination address (mailbox) on a specific mail server. You need to know which mail server to contact to pick-up your messages.

Also when I go here https://act.ucsd.edu/studentEBill/StudentBilling it allows me to authorize a parent/payer to pay my bills…

Hopefully that means I’m in!?!?! This wait is killing me!

I dont have an email and says i cant authorize a payer

@fuzzyducky I’m assuming thats a good sign! I was admitted almost a month ago and I still don’t have a UCSD email address haha.

@Katdawg1 can you authorize a payer?

@Deluxe247 when I click on that it says “We’re sorry but you are not eligible to authorize a payer until the day after you have accepted our offer of admission”
