^Awesome. Glad I could lead you to hopeful rather than distressing news.

I would put about as much weight on predicting when UCSD will release their decisions as I would predicting when the next big earthquake will hit California. If trends hold with previous years, there will be a large batch (with most of the bio majors) released quickly right around when UCLA releases.

So I checked my financial aid status at UCSD (through that email link on page 40) and they said they don’t have a record that I turned in a fafsa - I just checked on fafsa.gov and they were the first one I put down.

Hope it’s just an error or something. I guess we’ll see =(

Does anyone know if any engineering majors have been accepted to UCSD yet?

I chose my primary major to be electrical engineering and my alternate as computer engineering.

Also, I checked the UCSD email page and I do not have an email and my financial aid says that they have not received my FAFSA (I double-checked already to make sure that I did enter the correct school code for UCSD).

Anyone on here using ULink to get into a UC?

^ I think I saw a couple of accepted civil engineers in this thread. But there are a lot of us engineers in here who have not heard from UCSD. My counselor told me with my GPA and all, UCSD is surefire but I have to wait and see.

Some electrical engineering majors have been admitted. My friend was admitted into electrical engineering with full financial aid information available at the time she received her acceptance letter (on March 19!). Haven’t heard of any impacted majors receiving decisions yet.

I haven’t seen or heard of any other EE majors aside from those that have already posted on this thread.

Anyone else trying this financial aid “trick”? Did anyone who was accepted not show financial aid information prior to acceptance (or after)?

I was accepted in the second batch and none of the “tricks” worked for me the email or the financial aid info but as soon as I got in I could see my financial aid amount

1) Congratulations
2) Thanks for the info!! I have renewed hope…

Just to be clear… you tried logging into the financial aid section of the website prior to acceptance and it said that they had nothing on file for you and that you should fill out a fafsa…etc. Then, when you were accepted, all information was available?

New rule for me: No more checking. (I say that now…)

Ya it said they didn’t even have my Fasa same for UCSB and I got into both and as soon as I did I was able to see my provisional aid amount like @OpaqueApotheosis. Don’t stress! I started trying to do the tricks for UCLA bc the wait is killing me but I think that doing all that even if u do see the “tricks” doesn’t make u feel any better until you actually see the decision in writing haha

The one I was referring to is a transfer from my community college. I have two other friends who are also EE transfers who haven’t received word yet. Both have pretty good GPA’s so I think it’s just random.

I don’t think anyone knows for sure! But I would guess sometime this week, around Friday or Saturday. They released some decisions last Friday, and rumor has it UCLA and UCD will be releasing decisions on the 19th… I’m expecting UCSD to do the same. I’m hoping so, anyway. Even if they don’t release any decisions this week, it’s easier to wait one week at a time… I’m dying to know, too!!

Sorry! They released some decisions on Friday the 5th, not last Friday! Which makes it more likely they will be releasing more this week, in my opinion.
