I personally do not like that UCSD, UCI, UCD and possibly UCLA are coming out on the same day. Too much pressure!

@lindyk8, I find it cool actually because of less waiting

I’ve been coming here since September 2013!(I think) …I’m not new here, come to these threads, ask questions, read threads, answer to questions I know. This thread was going in the right direction at first where everyone was posting their stats and questions about UCSD, but it’s getting out of hand right now…I still check it 3/4 times a week tho. but some people need to control themselves.
good luck

There’s two sides to the four schools releasing notices on the same day… Or 3.

case 1: get accepted to 4 schools - turn up
case 2: get rejected to 4 schools - cuts for days
else: accepted to 2/rejected to 2 - okay

You’re probably right @bhav007, it’s just a nail biter. Then I hear a bunch of ppl at lunch saying if you apply to both UCLA and Berkeley, one will cancel the other out. (And Berkeley is not a choice I want, it was just thrown in for safe measure.) So then I have to go home and google if that is true (it isn’t). I’m too much Type A. Grrrrr

I just applied to Berkeley just to have a shot; I’m not competitive enough for Berkeley tho, so I’m not relying on Berkeley. For UCLA, I didn’t apply because there were many prereqs I would be missing for UCLA, and they are strict on prereqs so I’ve heard. But, I rly hope I get into at least one school out of the 5 I applied to (UCB, UCI, UCSC, UCD, UCSD). I didn’t apply to any CSU or privates.

@bolandgoo A problem here and I do not think it is any poster’s fault is the decision by UCSD to release one batch early on and then stop. It just created a nightmare with ppl trying to ascertain patterns, which is what ppl are designed to do, based on neuroscience studies. The relentless drive to find patterns. The reason this problem does not exist on UCB, UCD or UCLA threads is because just one date was set up for admissions release. So, I for one, see how it’s happened, and also, because I am Type A, a worrier, and a pattern-finder type, I get sucked in. It actually relieves tension for me. ;)

How are some people logging in? I still have the system is down webpage.

My UCSD site is still “Systems Unavailable Due to Scheduled Maintenance” wthhhhhhh

@transfer14ptl @transfersammy clear your cache in your browsing history. Or go and check on a different computer it should solve the problem.

This is strange… I still can’t log in even though others could four hours ago.

You cannot stop me from posting and thereby forcing everyone else on these forums to check whether they started handing out decisions.

@bolandgoo, so, you complain about “useless” comments with what? More “useless” comments? Lol.

I’ve been looking at these threads for 3 years. This happens every single year with “decision” threads. Especially ones created months before people get their decisions.

The only downside to people commenting this much is that next years applicants will have to navigate through 100’s of pages. 1st world problems. If people feel badly for them, which they shouldn’t, they can go ahead and extrapolate all decisions and create another thread in May or something.

@behav007 what’s your GPA and major, if I may ask?

I don’t get where people are getting the 18th from. Ms. Sun’s blog clearly states that UCSD is going to come out in batches from mid march to end of April.

No, it actually says April 18th right here Error;

And this is the source that is referenced there which also reflects the 4/18 date

Edit: Oh didn’t see your post, well we’ll see whether or not she’s right on Friday.

@lindyk8, lol it’s bhav007, not behav007.

My major is computer science, and my GPA is 3.47.

Wait, Why am I being negative and asking if I can at least get into one school of the ones I applied to (UCD, UCSD, UCI, UCB, UCSC)?

I think I have a good shot for most except Berkeley right?

I guess I haven’t heard back from UCSC yet that’s why, and that’s a “lower tier” UC. Also, I guess because of the “no articulated courses” that showed up for most of of the UC’s. How important are the courses that do not articulate?

Oh behave, @bhav007. I personally know two ppl who were rejected from UCSC and you haven’t heard yet, so you’re still in the game. By articulated you mean classes for the major? Were some required, or there weren’t any listed? Are you TAG anywhere? Re: GPA, I don’t know what the average is for your major, but I sure feel I have seen a lot of 3.3s getting accepted around these parts, although I do not know the circumstances. UCSC, and maybe UCI and UCD. Stay positive!

@lindyk8, well, to put it this way:

-I’m missing one required prereq for UCD (other 2-3 don’t articulate)
-none for UCI (finished all required ones; others don’t articulate)
-will be finishing last required prereq for UCSD (so, I’ll have the assist.org “general advice” satisfied)
- 2 “foundation” (according to assist) courses will be missing for UCSC
- one will be missing for Berkeley (while others don’t articulate)

EDIT: Yah, I mean classes for my major. I TAGGED to UCSD, but unfortunately it’s going to be rejected because I had a 3.47 “by the end of Fall”, not a 3.5 or higher.
