cgarcia wins the coolest application award.

Someone built a fusion reactor. Pretty sure I’m just middling.

But I actually believe you.

[Fusion is Easy-a homemade tabletop nuclear fusion reactor (Fusor) for science projects and research](http://www.brian-mcdermott.com/fusion_is_easy.htm)

I remember someone from one of the recent cycles who had a homegrown fusion reactor that was rejected.

Ok, fine, your application can not be the coolest if that’s really what you want.

No I am the coolest 8)

@IB, I didn’t say that specifically about YOU. I also didn’t say education is not valued either, just not as much. I’m making a generalization and there’s alot of wrong with generalizations but there IS a general trend. Can you confirm that black underachievement is due purely to economic reasons? If you could there’d be alot less debate about alot of things. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but when you agreed w/ affirmative action on the simple basis that blacks don’t get as much SAT prep as whites (which I think is true) you ignore alot of other things. Perhaps I read your post differently then how you intended it. I simply saw something along the lines of blacks don’t get SAT prep, therefore we should have affirmative action. At my school, which is middle-class btw, there are smart blacks, but they are simply underrepresented in AP classes and such.

cgarcia did you get in?

And I read 2 or three fusion things this year…

Nah. Rejected. I’m going to take a few classes at a community college and try again next year.

If you truly remember, that was before I took the test again on November. I then got a 2340 if I can still recall, which prompted me to use the multiple choice verification process. It turns out I did get a 2400 (superscored).

@cgarcia, good idea.
good luck

Thats to bad cgarcia, I thought you would definitely make it. Good luck with community college.

Close. It changed to an 800 on two sections while I still retained the 720 in Math, which, strangely, I thought would be the only thing that would change. But nevertheless it was a 2400 superscored.

Getting a 2400 is in no way a guaranteed acceptance or a specific hook, but I understand what you’re getting at. I actually am starting to believe that the 2400 only hurt me. It more likely cast me off as the stereotypical reclusive nerd and my other stats would only support that. Looking at my own application in an objective view, I do look like that with the exception of some leadership roles. Now, a mid 2300, that would look better. It could just be me being extremely subjective on the numbers though. However, it does seem like something a college would enjoy boasting about: that is, how many 2400s it rejected.

Congratulations to those accepted.

HAHAHA this is really the weirdest school I’ve ever seen, so glad I didn’t apply lol, I would have gone mad xD. To those who didn’t get in, it’s not your fault guys, u’re all brilliant! I’m sure you will get in another excellent school!

@aisdufhb -

You should read “The Source of the River” and “The Shape of the River.”

Wow. Pretty crazy.

I have no ill feelings towards anyone. I misread your post just like you probably misread mine. Just one of the many beauties of the internet- you get misinterpreted because you cannot verbally explain yourself.

^ Yeah cgarcia you had pretty good stats. It just goes to show how many really strong applicants were rejected this year… I was absolutely shocked to see all those rejections on the decisions thread. I think it’s really disheartening.

I just hope there won’t be as many rejections from the Ivys and other top colleges when we hear back on April 1st… :S
