Hello everyone, I am thinking about transferring to schools like Stanford and others. My question to everyone is how did you approach the transfer essay? (Common App) I am not sure to start with a narrative or go straight into it. I would like to avoid the latter, because my major reason is I can’t afford my current university. I am not asking for specifics, but a general advice from previous applicants. Thanks.

@mjr2013 would you say they care a lot about your sat scores as a transfer? Is it important to need their average if it isn’t as high as they expect?
@Annbitious07 it all depends - if you’re more traditional, and took it two years ago, trying to transfer after a year elsewhere, then it will matter more than if you took it twenty years ago and are applying out of the military. It’s all relative to who you are as an applicant.
