I would like some advice. My parents are pushing me to take the ACT again in September (I'm going to be a senior this year) to try to get a perfect score. I'm feeling reluctant to do so because I'll have to spend a lot of time to prepare again.

I already have a 2340 SAT and a 34 ACT, so my question is, do you think it's worth it for me to take the ACT again? I believe I could make a 35 or 36 if I really try, but I don't know how much difference a couple of points will make. But then again, the schools I'm applying to to are very competitive (UPenn, Cornell, MIT, Duke, etc.) and a couple of points could give me an extra edge.

Also, if a school says it wants either your SAT and SAT II's or your ACT, can I still submit both? Will they look at both or will they only look at the first one I submitted?

Those scores can get you into any school in the country -- depending what you're doing to back them up. Scores by themselves are really not that pivotal without GPA, ECs, passions....

On the other hand, while the difference between a 34 and a 36 is meager, if you are good enough to get a 2340 on the SAT, what would it hurt to take the ACT again. I mean, while it is not a huge difference, it could be one more thing to get into that dream school of yours. You have a special gift. You can take the ACT and SAT and doing amazingly on them, which is a gift few people ave. I say go for it.

If you get a 36 or 35 on the ACT, I would show them both, just to inform them that you mean business. Good luck!
