24 Hours till the ACT

this is my first time taking it!! i hope i do well :)
matter of fact....I KNOW I WILL!!

Laugh-cry-smile,
That is sort of a complex question. The makers of the ACT have already created a curve for the test that is administered tomorrow to take into account the difficulty of each section. If we get an easy English test, -0 might be needed for a 36 (-1 is 35 most of the time). For Math, it can be -1 = 36 quite often, and -1 on reading is quite often a 36 too. Science usually doesn't allow that freedom. So, you could get 1 wrong on math and reading (maybe? depending on the test really ... ) to get a 36 in each section. As phoenix said, you can get 2 35s / 2 36s or 1 34 / 3 36s (without the essay) to get a 36 composite.

Good luck!

Hoping for at least a 32

yea i got 35 math 35 english 36 science 36 math, and 36 composite! so i'm guessing i missed 1 math and 1 english, but i don't really know for sure. moral of the story: it is ok to miss some questions!

im worried because i just made my first attempt at writing an ACT essay in 30 min, and ran out of time after finishing my 1st body paragraph......

what should i do??

VSheng, I would suggest just doing a quick outline to organize your thoughts, and then just write. A problem I have with writing and time is that I think about what I want to write in, say, the third paragraph when I am still on the first. And since I'm not concentrating on the first, it takes me a while to gather my thoughts. And when I finally get to the third paragraph, I forgot what I wanted to say. If you have something similar, then an outline might help you.

Does anybody have any advice for the science portion? In my last practice test, I did really well in everything else (28's-34's) but I got a 21 in science. Ouch. I think my highest science score so far out of my three tests is 25 for science. I think it's due to time. I sometimes find it hard to interpret graphs the first try, so I have to reread it 2-3 times (which sucks, because almost every question is about the graphs). Any quick magic tricks?

arduousspallor no real advise but concentrate on the science passages that are like graphs or tables mostly, not the reading ones. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!
