I'm Asian...I feel as thought having a 2400 will cause universities to stereotype me as someone who does nothing but study, although my ECs demonstrate otherwise.

And I also feel as though EVERYONE has a 2400..at least that's the impression I receive from this website.

Nope. It means something. Your ECs will dispel that belief. There are no negatives to getting a 2400. I wouldn’t believe half of what you read on here. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people aren’t truthful about their stats.

Ummm… There are only a couple hundred people out of over a million people that get that score. Also, if you start second guessing yourself as a person for getting a 2400, you have other issues that you should be focusing on.

Great score. Good job. Just NEVER use the standards of the forum to affirm your self-worth. It’s an uphill battle that’s not worth fighting.

Probably because they’re people who let their scores speak for themselves as a person. Instead, it’s important to have a degree of humility when showing yourself as a human being instead of a series of numbers and scores

Idk what Catria is trying to say, but a 2400 is in no way a disadvantage. Don’t just listen to people’s opinions; opinions are flawed and purely subjective, especially on CC. If you look at the stats, 2400s have a much, much higher rate of admission to top colleges, including hyp, than lower test scores.

Now you’re just being silly. There’s a lot more to you as a person than the 2400 and you are definitely qualified. Of course schools wouldn’t want kids who think the 2400 is the only thing that defines them, and maybe that’s why so many get rejected. Every kid who gets into an Ivy is smart, but not every smart kid will bring something interesting to the table. Loads are just that, smart kids. Prove you’re not one of them and you’ll be fine.

Also, I too, would advise against believing everything you read here. There are lots of trolls and insecure kids who somehow feel better faking their stats.

If you don’t want the 2400 score you could always just give it to me…

Very few people get that score, and it won’t hurt you. People on collegeconfidential are just overachievers lol. You can still go to top US colleges (assuming you have the grades/EC activities)

I hope this isn’t just an ego boost thread. But judging by your username it definitely is.

Definitely sure that not everyone has achieved a score like that. CC represents a small population of all college-bound college students out there, ones that care intensely about which college they want to attend. Obviously their scores would represent the “higher percentile” than that of all test-takers.

I got a 2400 and was admitted to Yale. The admissions officer gave me feedback saying that it was my ECs that really made me stand out.

So yes, great scores DO matter. But colleges need to see depth in you behind that score. They’re looking for interesting people who will diversify and improve the population of their college.
