My ACT score is 27 I'm applying to computer science and according to this table the minimum is 29.
Should I still apply because it seems like they will just throw away my application.

What is your GPA? What activities were you in? Based on your ACT you won’t get in but if there is something else fantastic in your application, maybe you can.

@Adamsley GPA is 3.9 unweighted (its out of 4)
I was in Robotics all 4 years of my high school career.

I guess I can leave McGill out :(

That is an excellent GPA. You’ll never know if you can get into McGill unless you submit an application. Go for it!

McGill has rigid requirements. If you are below the minimum, you are rejected. It is not holistic admissions.

It only takes the price of the application. You will never know for the rest of your life if you are accepted or rejected so why not just try. If you get rejected, so what? There are plenty of great schools you can go to.

Unfortunately Computer Science requires a minimum of 29 ACT for admission. Considering how fussy McGill is about its entrance minimums, it is unlikely that you will get in with a 27 ACT.

Since you have such a good GPA however, I would recommend you try retaking the ACT or the SAT and see if you can increase your score ever so slightly. If you manage to get it to 29/30, you are almost certain to get in with that GPA.
