2nd Semester Senioritis Ideas

So yeah guys, things are looking better now. College apps are over and the waiting game is still on, but at least we don't have as much stress anymore :) What do you guys do to kill time? FREE TIME...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

One last thing- People have expected me to be valedictorian for so long, and I'm angry that I pressure myself to meet their expectations. My counselor initially told me only 1st semester senior grades counted, but it turns out that 3rd and 4th m.p. grades may be counted as well
-____-. I don't know why I'm pressuring myself over other's expectations, but I really want to give that speech, even if it means nothing for colleges. Salu is right on my heels, and I don't know how to take this...any suggestions?

Wow, free time? My S has NO free time. He’s super busy looking for/applying for various scholarships. Doing more school research while waiting for decisions. He’s staying busy with school and extra curriculars. He’s now taken on a new job. He’s super busy with new research projects he’s begun. He’s looking at summer options.

He hasn’t begun his valedictorian speech yet.

For you, I suspect that your school wants you to not suffer senioritis and therefore want you to keep up your grades if you want to give that speech. Do you know how close the next person is to your gpa ? All I can really say is just keep on working. You’ll have summer to take your break, don’t do it now.

Bragging about your son (we don’t abbreviate, abbreviating makes things seem… impersonal) while simultaneously answering OP’s question - interesting.

(To OP) Congrats, your long journey through high school is nearing its end. How much does being Val mean to you? Is it worth studying diligently for an extra few months, or would you rather be relaxed and put in minimal effort? I’m all for the idea of second semester senioritis, but if you want to be valedictorian, go for it.

Thanks dfree, it matters somewhat to me. I guess it’s an experience that I want to go through and not give up after having been so close for so many years…
