Hi, I'll be going into 11th grade at highschool in about three weeks. I've been in Track and Field for two years now, and I am wondering if I should do Cross Country (XC) next year. I'm not really a distance runner and I missed the physical my school offered. These last two years I have been in NHS, a peer tutor, two years of ski club, one year of mock trial, and the gifted program. I did lack leadership roles however, but I plan to be in leo club next year along with increased tutoring. It's one week til XC practice and I haven't really been running as I did mostly weight lifting. I can either do XC as another sport or involve myself with more tutoring, leo club, and possibly a more academic club such as speech and debate.
So, any suggestions?

My 2c: Having a second sport is always good, and XC is good training for the running that is required at West Point. That being said, a leadership position in club is also a good thing. I would be cautious of just being a member of an additional club without a leadership role.

Good luck!
