3-2 Programs at Whitman

Does anyone know what the competition is like to get into the 3-2 programs offered by Whitman, especially the engineering/computer science programs? Does it add any cost to tuition if you go to one of the affiliated schools?

For those unfamiliar with the 3-2 programs here's what Whitman's website had:

Whitman offers combined 3-2 engineering and computer science programs with Caltech, Columbia, University of Washington, Washington University in St. Louis, and Duke; 3-2 oceanography and biology or geology with the University of Washington; 3-2 forestry and environmental management programs with Duke; a 3-3 law program with Columbia Law School; and a 4-1 education program with the University of Puget Sound.

My understanding is that you just start taking the classes, and when you get to the end of year 3 having taken the appropriate curriculum, you can just transfer. I did the program to Duke, and knew a couple of guys that went to Columbia engineering. But several of the programs are more recent so I don’t have intell on them.

How well did you feel Whitman prepared you for Duke? Seeing as though it is academically demanding.
