3.7 GPA enough to be considered by MHC?

hi there everyone, i'm just wondering, is a 3.7 GPA (on a scale of 4.3, though ppl rarely get past 4) from a good community college enough to get into MHC? Given, of course, that i have great recs, essays and ECs. thanks for any input on this issue.

I think a better question is whether it will keep you out, and I don't think that it will (it is a good GPA, of course). Actually, to be more specific, I don't think that it will unless it was achieved by taking a course-load that was obviously unchallenging. The thing is that the greatness of the rest of your app is always going to be relative. I don't really know how impressive your whole package is in comparison to those of other applicants. Transfer spots are more limited also, you know? Just try to do your very best and, if you are an enthusiastic, passionate person, that will shine through. MoHo doesn't care about numbers alone, I promise. They want to see you as a person, so definitely let your wonderful self show in every way!

Obviously, though, if you have a good SAT score, send it. It helped me (I think... it definitely didn't hurt lol).

I just reread the end of the first paragraph and I totally feel like Oprah or Dr.Phil now (cuter, I think hehe) lol. Oh well, it is true!

thanks for the encouragement! a 3.7 is actually an A- average in my school and is generally considered a very good GPA, it's just I feel that I need to get more opinions to see if it's good enough on top of everything else....anymore opinions?

Hey Curious Kid! Well, when I went for my MHC interview, and I asked about the average average (haha), they said it was around 3.6 or 3.7. So you're in luck. You're in the range! But I think it's the other things about your application that will get you in. Flowers & 3am's is very correct about the personality aspect. Your essay, EC list, courseload, etc, say a lot about you.

Anytime, Curious Kid. Good luck!
