Hey, this probably sounds crazy, but can you take three SAT IIs in 1 day? I'm a senior who hasn't taken any, but just decided I want to apply to a school that requires three of them. If I took three on the next testing date, would the scores come back in time for the Jan. 1 deadline? Or is this impossible/a really bad idea? Thanks

yes you can

each take about an hour.

Yes, if you really have to.

Thanks for the input. I'm still trying to decide if it's worth paying all that money to take those tests for just one school, one I might not get into anyway. (the school's Haverford) Guess I'll have to decide soon, since I haven't started studying at all yet. Taking three in a row definitely sounds tough... Anyone have have any experience doing this?

3 SAT IIs isn't any more grueling than the SAT I. If you are prepared for all three, I would do it. It saves money, and you get everything done at once. I did Writing, World Hist, Math IIC in a row and did quite well on all of them. It depends on the person though. If you are someone who cannot focus for a long time, you might consider not doing it, and certainly if you are uncertain whether you can be ready for all three at once you shouldn't. On the other hand, more scores can't hurt you too much (they might just ignore the lower one(s)), so, since you CAN take three, you might as well. That's why I took World Hist- I was only planning to do the other two, but tacked it on just to see how I'd do (got a 780, so it was worth it).

I took three in one day and I thought it was a bad idea. My scores were lower for each consecutive test I took. (1. writing-760 2. Mathiic - 740 3. Chem 730)

Its very possible. Just make sure you have had enough sleep for the few days before the test.

3 tests in one day will be incredibly draining.

It's not that bad. Definitely do-able. If you prep enough to the point where you're confident and not doing that last-minute cramming in the car then no worries.

Yeah, it's not That bad. I did it, and it turned out okay. just make sure that you eat a plentiful breakfast.

It is harder than taking the SAT I. My basic reasoning on this is that the SAT I, despite being characterized as anything but by the College Board people, is still very much an innate intelligence test. The idea that it was "un-studyable for" was put to rest long ago, but it can't ignore its roots. On the other hand, the SAT IIs are just the opposite. They test how much you've learned, how much raw data you've retained. Therefore, being prepared to just take the SAT I isn't as hard as being prepared to take three SAT IIs. In my own experience, I just know that it's very hard to prepare for all three to the degree that you know them all well enough to get a good score. I had never taken a single one (SAT II) in october and was going to take Writing, IIC and Physics, but when the test day came, I hadn't ever opened the writing book. Therefore, I decided to put that one off til november and just take the math and physics. I got very good scores on those (800 and 780 respectively), and when I took the Writing about two weeks ago, I got a 790. On the other hand, my friend put them all off until two weeks ago and got atrocious scores. My verdict is a big NO.

I took 3 SAT IIs and it was considerably harder...my brain was mush for my last one and Iran incredibly horribly at my X-C race that day, lol. (630 writing, 660 U.S., 680 chem)

I did them all in one day for 800 800 760 in Math IIC Physics and Writing

it depends on the person, if ur prepared for all three go for it, but its not grueling to the point where you can't succeed

3 in one day is balls to teh walls but is doable.

it is really not that bad, just make sure you are not taking 3 very difficult subject tests on one day, that could be tiring. I took Writing, Literature, and MathIC all on the same day and it was fine.
