*34 - School Reports Distraction During Administration of Exam

When I took the English Lang. exam in May, the power went out for about 10 minutes in the gym where I was testing. The worst thing is that the same thing happened last year during World History. But now there are two notes with code *34 next to my scores (both 5s) and a footnote stating that a distraction happened during the exam. I'm worried that colleges will think that I was cheating or something, even though it was totally not my fault.

Has anyone had a similar experience, and did colleges still accept the scores?

The code *34 insinuates that there are 33 other notes that can be put next to your exam (I wouldn’t put it past the college board to think of a list that long). If there was only one note that they could put next to your score, it wouldn’t be “distraction,” it would say something like “unusual or unforeseen circumstances.” So if they have multiple notes, the one for cheating would definitely be way more blunt, with a big note saying something along the lines of “THIS KID CHEATED AND DOESN’T DESERVE TO GO TO YOUR SCHOOL!” Or, you know, “cheating.” I’m sure you’re fine, though you could always call the college board or put a note in your apps if you’re really concerned.
