Cue the inspirational music! Hit the lights!

Anyway, I am going for a 36 in October's upcoming test. (25th). I will commence studying on the 5th (after SAT Subject tests). This time, I am going for nothing less than a 36! In June, I took it and got a 34 (35,34,34,33; E,M,R,S). Think I can get a 36 this time around? All I studied much for in June was math (improved 9 pts from December). Then I just did a couple of practice tests in the other subjects. Do you guys think it's possible for a little ol' Iowan like me to do it? or do I need 'crzy azn' skills like the rest of you? :P

I don't feel like there's a way you can study for english or reading. I've gotten 36 on both sections in the past, but I've also gotten as low as a 33 on reading. it really just depends on the test, how well I'm reading that day, careless errors, and that sort of thing.

I do think that if you really work you can definitely get a 36 on math. At least that test is somewhat predictable.

Science is also really unpredictable. Just practice getting faster!

I agree. Too much unpredictability to ensure that you get a 36. But its not out of your reach either. There isnt much studying you can do at that point. Just practice and get your timing down.

I think it's possible. I wish I had studied for the ACT. I've taken it twice and the tests were very similar, especially the math problems. I think it's doable. Best of luck.

I'm going to say NO for a 36. You CAN do it, but here's the thing: depending on the curve, missing two questions on all 4 sections and you could be out of luck. The lowest you can go is 36,36,36,34 or 36,36,35,35. On some science sections, missing ONE question gets you a 34. See what I mean now? If you had a day to take the ACT, you could probably get a 36(but no amount of time will teach you some math concept that you have absolutely no idea about). Other than that, aim for something more feasible.

It's possible. I mean, the coveted 36, isn't as elusive as the 2400. I mean, like RahoulVA said, getting 1 wrong could set you back to a 34. Basically it pans out like this, reading is a bit more lenient (yes?), so MAYBE 1 wrong could still net a 36. Math, you need to be perfect - just go through it slowly, don't try and rush, and you'll be surprised at how well you do within that time (it's an ample amount of time). English: Should be fine. Just be careful, the eng questions aren't the hardest...
Science: This is the challenging one that will prove most treacherous in your quest to a 36. Try and move at a fairly quick pace, but DON'T make careless mistakes. I know how easy it is to just say that (i've been getting 34's on science because of easy mistakes...). So if it's possible: be careful, but be quick. Aim for a full score here, but one wrong, provided that the other sections are full scores, won't kill you.

you can get a 36. or you could get a 34. or a 35.
i dont think any preparation you could do from now until then would get you a 36.. you've already got all the skills you need. now you need some luck.
