They’re fascinated and concerned with many aspects of a topic, their papers don’t succeed in researching or analyzing a specific thesis.

They write a lot of information that is insightful and accurate, but it may be off topic. For example, when analyzing a writer’s symbolism in the literary work, they might spend too many words on the bio of the author or the history of the topic.

They can dress a weak paper with a robust vocabulary and eloquent writing style, but the logic and arguments of the essay itself might be rudimentary. Many teachers will automatically give an A because of polish but some professors might see through it.

They can put too much weight on their opinions. Sometimes a paper requires a lot of academic evidence. Even if your analysis is brilliant enough to be published in a journal, it oftentimes cannot be the basis of the paper.

Somewhat.
But it can also be true that intelligent people are so thoughtful and inventive that they sometimes spur out of control with ideas and lack structure in their essays.
