4 Test's Tomorrow... It is 11:49 PM

Hey. So, I have 4 tests tomorrow and am in quite a dilemma:

Honors English - In-Class Essay on a topic of Wuthering Heights (ie. romanticism, gothicism)
Honors Math - Quiz on function stuff
Honors Chemistry - Test on Stoichiometry with percent yield etc. etc.
Spanish 3 - Midterm (writing portion)

Ok so... I have Chem and Math in the morning. I think I will be okay with Math but Chemistry is a bit difficult seeing as I am not sure exactly what is on the test tomorrow (the teacher just gave us vague questions to work on and said it would be of that nature). I need help brushing up on some stuff so I may come into school early tomorrow for extra help.

English and Spanish 3 are after lunch. I need to memorize 3 units of vocabulary for Spanish 3 by tonight. English, I have to come up with some possible essay topics she will test us on.

My dilemma is: I am not sure how to manage my time with all of these quizzes/tests tomorrow. Should I study Chemistry now and forgo Spanish? Or should I study both Chemistry and Spanish and study English at lunch? Or should I pull an all nighter?

Help me please.

Skip school. ;)

Yeah, take a day off bro…lol

I can’t. Next week is midterms so I won’t be able to make up any of the tests next week. This sucks

Can you not make them up after midterms?

If you’ve been paying attention in English class, a quick review of notes should suffice (unless your expected to have direct quotes, etc.). Do you need to come up with essay topics? I’ve learned to think quickly on the spot during english essay tests, so I generally just think of the main ideas/themes.

If you’ve been paying attention in math, and your grade is solid, just quickly look over your notes for the quiz (maybe even right before class starts). Quizzes are weighted less than tests, so don’t focus too much on it.

I would spend more time on the Spanish, since it is a midterm, and is worth more. If its just vocab, however, just quiz yourself until you are familiar with all the words. Grammar is usually more tricky (for me at least)

And study for chem well too.

Good luck! If you have to, just wing it in the class you’re doing the best in. Drink some coffee, and get to work! and get of CC, and give yourself time limits for each subject. This way, you’ll work faster and more efficiently. Don’t sleep later than 2- really, it can be bad (get some sleep!). If you DO, drink coffee or something, so you’ll be awake for the tests.

haha, i think its clear that I’ve done this alot of times. Really, studying 2-3 days in advance can do wonders.

Well, tomorrow is Friday so you can just sleep in after you get back from school.

I think an all-nighter is worth it.

PLEASE do not pull an all-nighter. You won’t be able to think clearly the next day, you’ll be tired, easily distracted, and will have trouble focusing.

Math and chemistry need focus. and english and spanish. You don’t want to take difficult and important tests w/out any sleep. And also, eat breakfast.
trust me, I’ve done this before. Even with 4 hours of sleep, its difficult. An all-nighter is NOT a good decision. Maybe for writing a paper, which you just turn in, but not when you’ll need to focus the next day. Caffeine can’t solve everything either.

I pulled an all-nighter before my AP Chem/Euro finals.

NOT A GOOD IDEA. I literally fell asleep during Chem and didn’t finish the test (nor did most people in the class. It was hard.) But still…you should at least get 3-4 hours in.

^I completely disagree with both prior statements.

Having done around 20 all-nighters a year for each year of high school (and I didn’t eat breakfast either), an all-nighter with many tests the next day is definitely possible. You won’t be tired because you’ll be too worried about your tests. That gives you a lot of focus, actually. It all depends on your mental stamina and desire to get through the night and your big test day.

Your Chemistry topic is pretty straightforward and shouldn’t pose any problem. Your description of math is vague, so I don’t know about that. Don’t study for English essays too much, since you can’t really study for them anyway.

It’s different if you were writing a paper and then had no tests. THEN you would be falling asleep because you have nothing to worry about once you’re in school so you have nothing to engage your mind with.

well, I will add that I play sports. This may have contributed to my tiredness that night, and the next morning. I know I personally cannot pull all-nighters, and they actually make my grades go down more so than not studying at all (which I have done, w/ decent results).

I’ve also fallen asleep during a chem test once…it was bad b/c I wasn’t COMPLETELY asleep, but enough to not really know what I was doing. So its ultimately what you can get yourself to do.

Do you take caffeine? Maybe that makes a difference.

I was nodding off for the first half, and then the adrenaline kicked in when I was halfway through (our teacher whistles really sharply to signify the time left) which made it better. However, I was definitely doing the problems at a much slower rate and I couldn’t concentrate.

AP Euro was no problem though. I just filled in bubbles.

Exactly. It’s all about how much drive you have to stay up.

(and I didn’t do sports, just clubs)

Oh, but I forgot to say that taking a nap right when you get home is essential before starting your all-nighter. Except you’re probably already past this point. Hmmm…

I think that less sleep= less speed and more inaccuracy (stupid mistakes, etc.)

especially, if you’ll be pressured for time in chem.

but by now, I hope that md5hash is studying, and not reading CC

Do not pull all-nighters. As someone who did tech, sports, clubs and took hard classes, I can assure you that all-nighters hinder your test-taking abilities. Go to class and learn your lesson for next time honestly. Make Spanish flashcards with the words you don’t know and review them WHENEVER you have time (like literally, every extra second).

wahh wahh

sucks 4 u bro :)

Guys, thanks for all of your advice. I was able to complete every one of the tests that I took well (I fell asleep at 3:30 am lol). Man am i glad thats over.
