harvard (10char)

If you're from California, go to Harvard and get back to Cali at Stanford/Berkeley/CalTech/UCLA/etc. for grad.

Harvard.

Massachusetts actually has seasons.

If you're interested in doing music, you have the New England Conservatory right next door, so to speak. If you're into science, in the unlikely event that you can't find the course you're looking for at Harvard, you can dual-enroll at MIT (which is also next door). If you're interested in pretty much anything else, Harvard and the institutions in the area will accomodate and nurture you as much as possible.

Boston is amazing. Palo Alto? Doesn't compare!

Natalie Portman graduated from Harvard; Reese Witherspoon from Stanford. Natalie > Reese, but this is just one biased opinion.

It's easy to get from place to place at Harvard. Yeah, Stanford's got the biggest campus in the United States, but who really wants to walk forever to get from class to class?

I think reason 3 sealed it for me. Then again, I didn't even apply to Stanford because of reason 1.

Hope to see you on campus next year! But then again, you can't go wrong...follow your instinct!

perpetualmotion: You know you can't go wrong here. By now I assume you have made and re-made the lists and analyzed and re-analyzed the criteria. Unless a clear favorite has emerged from the objective criteria, it's time to go with your gut. Go where you think you'll be happier.

without a doubt go stanford. it has everything harvard has plus better weather. although it does depend on what you want to major in. if it's engineering then definitely go stanford. since obviously you've already made the decision, let us know what you decided and why.

what did you pick??

yeah i know what'd u pick =)

it was a really tough decision...i clicked yes to harvard with three minutes to go.

i chose harvard because i wanted to get out and experience something completely new...getting out of my comfort zone. and boston is an exciting city, so there will be many opportunities for me given the rich art culture there. and also, i think harvard will provide me more opportunities internationally and regarding business.

so, i've decided to take that leap into the unknown and see where i land =) i'm determined to make the most of my time there and be happy no matter what. with that said, it was extremely hard to let go of stanford since i was already so set on it..and get over my love for blue skies, the sun, and palm trees.

lol, i wish i had the luxury of choosing between harvard and stanford. if that was the hardest decision in my life, i'd be fine with it. obviously you can't go wrong with harvard, especially for business. good luck next year and don't be too mean to the kids at MIT.

You also get to tell people that you go to Harvard.

You can have blue skies and sun, even in winter. But not every day. Definitely no palm trees. My S chose H over Stanford, but he likes the East Coast weather.
All of S's friends are staying in Cambridge this summer despite being from all over the country. It is a pretty good place to go to school. :) Congratulations on getting the decision out of the way.

Ops. Wrong choice. http://media.townhall.com/Townhall/Car/b/wright0529color-.jpg

Great choice, going for the unexplored (for you). Glad to see my advice had such a strong influence on you. :)

This could actually turn out to be very wrong, though it depends on exactly what you want to do.

Right, and if she'd picked Stanford, she could have told people she goes to Stanford.

lol so interesting point there ;)

Hahvahd packs more of a punch, wouldn't you agree? ^_-

^it's debatable :)

Not really. Stanford, I'd say, is a more popular school than Harvard because it is such a balanced school in terms of being a HUGE powerhouse for athletics as well as academics.

Just curious, how did you get to pick between the two so late?

I hope i have to choose between harvard and stanford come senior year!! lol
