does anyone know anything about the 5 college consortium? I was accepted at Smith and UMASS Honors. Is it worth it to spend more on Smith, when i can take classes there anyway as a UMASS student? It seems like a good bargain...

well the smith name would look better in the long run on a resume and what not....however in my own personal opion i would go to umass i dont no in what kind of enviorment you where raised in but on my way back from visitng umass i was sittin in front of 2 smith students on the air plane... i never prayed so hard before to lose my hearing... i would say smith would give u a great education however umass would give u more social diversity... and since im going to umass this fall im gonna have to say save the money take classes at smith AND amherst party hard at umass....

Definitely Smith.

I know Umass Amherst has the whole consortium thing, but do people actually participate in it? If they do, do they find it worthwhile?

yeah, I go to umass and so far I've taken five classes at the other schools (and i'm only a sophomore). doing this has been the most worthwhile part of being here - it's such a great opportunity and the only reason i'm still at umass!

definetly smith. when I went to a wheaton open house the college exchange program is rarely used and its somewhat difficut to organize. If you are more of studious person who like to study/get good grades and have fun, def. go for smith.
