Here’s what you can do if coronavirus closes your school. https://insights.collegeconfidential.com/what-to-do-if-school-closes-for-coronavirus
Interesting. Our headmaster just sent an email and announced the boarding high school in NE will be closed for entire semester. It feels very premature and out of context, since no other boarding school has announced such decision yet and I’m wondering considering 18% international student body and students from all across the country, who are either back home or will be heading home, how will it be possible to conduct virtual (online) classes.
I think many, many K-12 and high schools will be closing for the remained of the year. People are just beginning to wrap their heads around this and it is taking a while for everyone to understand how serious this is. I don’t think colleges will return to in-person classes this year. I actually worry about the fall semester.
@GGNewton , George School has done the same. So have most colleges. And while I am just guessing at what will happen, just like everyone else, it seems increasingly likely that the schools that are aiming to return in early April may find themselves unable to do so.
The benefit of doing it for the rest of the year, I suppose, is that they can focus on doing it right by making one set of plans.
Depending on where you are, who you know, who you are…it’s hard to gauge the response. But I suspect that we are ultimately going to find that we did too little too late, not the other way round.
