$50,000+ EFC, worth it to apply for financial aid?

<p>Yes, missing the deadline only makes you last to receive aid...meaning that if you actually needed the money, you would get the "scraps" or leftovers</p>

<p>Let me make this clear--schools can tell you that if things change, you can't go back and file for that year, but I have never seen a school not let you file for subsequent years, and at least for Federal and state aid, they have to.</p>

<p>At my S's school, when I called two years ago to ask this question of FA, they said that of course I could file for the next year since our income had severely changed, and by the way, did I want to file for the present year, too? I explained we were okay for that year, but thanks for the offer.</p>

<p>Yes, you can file for subsequent years, but if you didn't file initially, you may end up at the end of the line.</p>
