if my parents can pay $100000 according to fafsa, is financial aid even worth it?

yeah, so fafsa says my parents' net worth that they can pay is $99,999 from fafsa. so, is there any point to send out the css profile to like 6 of my colleges if i'm not going to get any aid? because spending $20 per college for css profile seems like a waste if i'm not going to get aid. any thoughts?

I doubt any point to CSS, one of my Ds schools said they require FAFSA for merit $$, so I am doing it.

Also some parents and students want the student to have some "skin in the game". By completing the FAFSA, you would be eligible for an unsubsidized Stafford loan in the student's name. We asked that our kids take the stafford loans as their share of the costs of college.

Sometimes a family's financial situation changes for the worse during the school year, which is even more likely in these difficult economic times. Check with the schools' FA requirements to see if prior submission of the CSS Profile is required for special consideration of a drastic change in income or assets. You could think of it as insurance in case of catastrophe.

also, many schools require the FAFSA and sometimes the CSS as well to be considered for merit aid. (even though you don't qualify for need based aid) so I would suggest completing it anyway.
