One of the many benefits the program offers is on-site teaching experience beginning in the freshman year. We have found the University in general and the School of Education in particular to be extremely responsive to the needs and concerns of their students and families.

I was wondering if the current job market for teachers will result in less students entering the field.

Wow that’s pretty incredible. Good to hear for prospective teachers.

I think they are making that offer because they genuinely feel that it is their mission to educate future teachers. Duquesne also opened a pharmacy in the Hill District (not a great neighborhood - can’t even keep a grocery store and many cabbies won’t go there). Again, it’s a mission.
