how prominent are the 5 yr. mba programs that some schools offer?

not very. The top B-schools all want several years of work experience before going back for an MBA.

and for good reason. go on the business forum to get more responses, plenty of lawyers and law students frequent those boards

blue- i know this, but how much does this affect the employers decisions.

I don't know if it is a Massachusetts thing, but I know Bentley and BC now offer a 5 year MBA program. It may be due to a change in the requirement to sit for the CPA exam - a 5th year is now required.

it's really an apples and oranges thing. For example, an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA is gonna have several years of work experience, in contrast to a recent MBA from the 5-yr Drucker School at the Claremont Colleges. Both will likely be bright and hard-working, but only one has actual work experrience and a profesional resume, so an employer will have to way that fact depending on what they are looking for.
