post yours, i’m interested in what your tastes are like.
6 songs, because it’s one more than 5

Bob Dylan- Tangled Up in Blue

Nirvana- About a Girl

The Clash- Rock the Casbah

Jimi Hendrix- All Along the Watchtower

311- Amber

Velvet Underground- Pale Blue Eyes

Sounds like more of YOUR favorite 6 songs of all time. Because, and Im just sayin, I think that people might have a Beatles song or two ahead of 311. My favorite 6:

Blackbird - Beatles

Bleeker Street - Simon & Garfunkel

Leaves That Are Green - Simon & Garfunkel

Electrolite - R.E.M.

For No One - The Beatles

Close to Me - The Cure

One-Metallica

It Was A Good Day-Ice Cube

Patience-Guns N Roses

Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana

Master of Puppets-Metallica

Revolution, Paperback Writer, any Beatles song-The Beatles

isn't it given that the list is my subjective opinion..... otherwise, I wouldn't ask what everyone else's favorite songs are, or even started the thread?

To each his or her own, personally I have never heard that song, but maybe Ace REALLY likes that song. When I was 17 I thought BTNH Thuggish Ruggish Bone was like the best song in the world, just because those guys were from my hometown. Musical tastes change over time.

Elton John-Can you feel the love tonight? (Lion King Soundtrack)
Annie Lennox-Into the West (lord of the rings 3 soundtrack)
Tim McGraw- Grown Men Don't Cry
Nsync-This I Promise You
Marvin Gaye-What's Going on?
Linkin Park-It doesn't even matter (don't know song name)

Barber -- Adagio for Strings (it was in the film Gallipoli if you're not a classical music fan)

Rolling Stones -- Beast of Burden or Shattered, can't pick between the two

MacArthur Park, weird but it holds up over time

Blue or Both Sides Now, Joni Mitchell -- groundbreaking folk music unsurpassed by anyone since

I'll agree with Dylan's Tangled Up in Blue

Anything by Bach -- we owe him a huge debt for his polyphonic musical contributions

Have to add it, because now that I think of it, Brahms 1st Symphony has to be included, even though it was homage to Beethoven, who I haven't listed. He would be 8, and Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls might be 9 to lighten things up.

It's impossible to limit the 'best' to such a short list.

See, there is a difference though. For example, I recognize that a song like, say "Rock the Casbah" is one of the top songs of all time, yet I don't like it. So on a list of my favorites it would be near the bottom, but on a list of songs that I thought were among the best of all time I would put it up there. Sorry, just givin you a hard time. Its what I do.

i got the impression he/she/it just wanted to get others tastes in music. Regardless if you think mozart or jojo has the greatest song of all time

Name- Goo Goo Dolls

Semi-Charmed Kinda Life- Third Eye Blind

And We Danced- Hooters

Let it Be- The Beattles

The Wind Beneath My Wings- Better Midler (pathetic I know)

Breakfast at Tiffany's-Deep Blue Something (the lyrics are borderline awful, but it sure is catchy:)

ahhh... it is impossible to limit it to six. just some honorable mentions:
Foo Fighters- Everlong(can't believe i left this out)
Velvet Underground- Heroin
Neil Young- My, My, Hey, Hey
Ryan Adams- Oh My Sweet Carolina
Modest Mouse- 3rd Planet

Blind Melon - No Rain
Coldplay - Don't Panic
Michelle Branch - All You Wanted
The Postal Service - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
Lifehouse - Hanging by A Moment

Ever Fallen in Love- The Buzzc0cks
Siren- Tori Amos
Good Night Sweet Girl- Ghost of the Robot
Not One Of Us- Lion King 2 (haha! I love this song)
Le Ciel- Malice Mizer
Tere Liye- Veer Zaara (another movie)
Trippin' On A Hole- Stone Temple Pilots
Rebel Yell- Billy Idol

I really love the whimsical sort of sound and my tastes are pretty eclective. I couldn't choose just six, sorry. These songs change according to my mood, though.
