would that kill my chances? i got a 710 on reading so that's a 1400/1600. but should i retake and see if i can crack 700 on math?

are you applying to SEAS or CC?.. If SEAS, then most definitely retake and aim for a 750+. If applying to CC, then I would recommend a retake anyway for a 700+. A 690 wont really hurt your chances terribly, but a 700 or higher looks better imo. Good Luck

Yes, retake. Having them both in the 700’s will look much better.

im surprised you didn’t mention your writing score…
columbia is one of the few colleges that collects, looks at, and considers the writing score in the application process …

i got an 800 on writing. will that make up for the math?

Columbia considers writing more than others??

Es Bueno!! Is there anything online about that, or is it just a known thing about Columbia?

no, they don’t. They consider it in the application process just like your other scores… And they are one of many which do so.
