So I am a sophomore that just took the World History Subject Test. I got a 770, and I'm wondering if that's worth putting on my application to my choice schools (MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, and CalTech). I'm hoping that I got a 5 on the AP test for world history because I studied for that one quite a bit. Also, is it worth it to send the score report to colleges now?

Congratulations on a great score. Absolutely include it in your application.

@skieurope Ok thanks, I was only contemplating sending it because I am trying to go to STEM schools and major in Engineering physics. Didn’t know if they cared about arts/history tests.

Well, you would still need to send a math and a science on top, but no reason not to include a great humanities score as well.

@skieurope Yeah, I think Stanford and Berkeley are interested in well-rounded applicants.

Your acting as if a 770 isn’t a good score, it is.

Something I hate about CC…

@bloodythunder : 770 is a great score, but for schools of those caliber it is nothing special.

@RunningForLife: For schools of those caliber, high test scores do not set you apart. However, a 770 demonstrates academic preparation nearly as well as an 800.

Send in that score!

Only on CC…

For reasons everyone else has already mentioned, send the score.

Guys, he is wondering if he should send a world History subject test to STEM schools. That’s why he’s asking. Don’t judge the thread by its title. [-(

Yes, definitely send. It’s a great score and shows you’re well rounded and not just good at STEM subjects. There’s a ridiculously smart kid in my grade who took calculus and physics a year early and couldn’t spell restaurant. Don’t be one-sided

Ok, got it. I realize that a 770 is not special, but I guess it’s good to have on the application none the less. Hopefully I can swing an 800 on chem and bio since I’m getting that on the practice tests.
