any idea how many tests would assure me a boost of 60 pts.? And where can I gets more tests? I wanna start writing like 3 per week until the May SAT and I only have ~5 from the college board book.

bump? where can i get more tests…like is there any way to get more college board ones rather than other ones? Im getting barons 2400 so i’ll have some in there too.

and if i wrote like 30 tests before the SAT in May, will I improve a lot? I mean, can u ever hit a plateau? And when do u know you hit that plateau (how many consecutive tests of the same score)

I just want some legit tests that can give me a good understanding of what to expect my score to be. I don’t want to keep buying prep books just for the tests at the end. i just need more tests…

Don’t expect to see a linear increase in your scores or else you may be terribly disappointed at some point What usually happens is that you see increases in your scores for a while, then you “hit a plateau” for a couple of weeks or a month. Then on some random day, the muses of SAT comes and plants that magical inspiration in your head and suddenly something clicks, and you understand what you’ve been missing all this time :D. It’s not really “if I study for so many hours” or “if I do so many practice tests” than I’ll get this much increase on my score type of thing.

Maybe try the CB online course? There’re several practice tests on there. There’re also three real SATs released online somewhere, but you may have to search for them. Seriously, don’t go through the actual CB SATs so fast - you’ll regret it when you run out of tests.

where do these people get like 50 tests from? I hear ppl on this forum saying that they wrote like 30 tests before the real thing and stuff. All I have is some Barron’s ones and The CB ones.

And yea, I think i’ve hit a plateau for now. I’ve had 2050-2140 for the last 4 tests.

I got 1910-2190 score range on my last SAT test! That’s soooo bad. the ONLY good thing that happened on that test was that I missed only 2 SC. MY vocab. sucks, but on that test today, I somehow knew like all of them. And of the 2 i got wrong, 1 was one that i knew the meaning to the words, but i for some reason, thought one word fit better than the other. Other than that, math sucked (6 errors), Writing sucked (i think ~8-9 errors) and I made 8 errors in CR (which i thought i wrote very well).

CR isn;t a problem, hopefully. I just lost interest today and skimmed a couple passages. i think if I focused today, i could’ve got to 6 errors.

What would you say that amount of errors would be on an average SAT?
6 errors in math
8 in CR
8 in Writing

For math, I’d say 650 to 700 range.

ViggyRam, I got an 800 in math when previously I would always miss 1 problem. This happened on a real sat and for my past two psats. What I recommend is to go sloowwwwly and read each problem twice before answering. Many times, I solved for the wrong thing or I just misread the problem. However, my friend who also scored an 800 suggests going at normal-fast pace and then doing all the problems again while covering your old answers. the last part is key! why might be throwing you off is the ease of the math questions. If you are fast enough that you can solve and check, go for it.

what score would those amount of errors in W and CR result in?^^

8 wrong in reading = 650
8 wrong in writing + 8 essay = 610

^

8 Wrong in reading would almost always result in a score of 690-700. Not 650.

aight. and damn, that 8 errors + 8 essay = 610 hurts my score a lot.

Random question again, what’s the difference between the Princeton Review Ultimate Classroom and just the Princeton Review SAT Classroom? The only differences I see are the number of classes/length. However, they advertise the Ultimate Classroom as improving scores on average. I assume this is inflated due to kids who go in with ~1600 and end up with much higher. BUT, still, maybe I could improve by ~100 pts. or so at this?

What do you guys and girls think? Which is more beneficial? I need to go to classes ASAP so I take them before my May SAT. The difference in fees between the 2 classes is 500$ as well.

Also, will using Barron’s 2400 boost my Math score? I heard the q’s are very difficult. Does this play a positive role in my actual math score? Will I see an improvement just from practicing tougher q’s?

^does barrons improve one’s math score all the time? just from doing the book can i guarantee an improvement due to the difficulty of their tests?

No. Nothing is guaranteed, and doing harder questions won’t help much. Just do all the BB tests.
