A bit of chancing, perhaps?

Planning on writing my essay centered around my lifelong anxiety disorder; how it's been a humbling experience, and how I've forced my way through it and grown in character and appreciation for the little things, etc.

Thanks so much for your time!

Your stats are all great :)I would retake the SAT, since the SAT & ACT test different things(how smart you are vs. what you’ve learned throughout high school). Nice focus on EC’s, too  I think you have a great chance.

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1181604-yale-harvard-princeton-ea.html

^ Will do (chance, I mean).

I do plan on retaking the SAT; I know it is a “reasoning” test, but regardless it IS English oriented, and that is not my forte. I don’t speak good like what other folk do.
Worse comes to worse and I’m not able to raise that score as highly as I’d like, will the ACT suffice?
Also, on a different tangent here, I’ve only taken 2 years of foreign language. Considering that I’m applying to the engineering college, how much can this hurt me?
Thanks again.

EDIT: chanced

I know what you mean…~7 years ago, I didn’t even know what the English alphabet looked like. So yeah, Science/math > English :)
Most colleges claim that they don’t care which test you submit & that they are weighted equally; however, I have heard many people say that’s a lie. For example, Southern schools like Vandy tend to like the ACT. So study as hard as you can! No worries, you have months :)

As for foreign languages, most Ivy League’s prefer 4 years of a language…but that’s not a prerequisite, it’s a preference as far as I’m aware. I would call the specific colleges you are applying to and ask them. You can always cram 2 semesters into senior year.

No…do not take the SAT again. There is absolutely no need to. A 34 ACT is great for applying to any school. I would spend your time working on your essays, since those are pretty darn important for Cornell (make sure you write a strong supplement for engineering; that is, spend a good amount of time on it!).

Yes.

As long you satisfy the College of Engineering’s language requirements, it should not. I’d double check on their website, though.

I’m not sure about your chances, but you’re definitely qualified to apply. Good luck, and I hope to see you here next year.

I think you are more than qualified! And for your sake, don’t retake the SAT! It’ll just drive you crazy!
