you can't compare this to the case you gave. Obviosly you would not make a good politician. We hafta bargain, or else it will be a cycle of killing between us and the terrorists and it will never stop. I guanantee you for every terrorist killed another will be born. A peace treaty is not appeasement. We would not let them step up thier violence. This will never stop, and say we capture Osama, someone else will take his place. If you like murder on both sides, then so be it, but I think that we should find a way to stop this useless war.

There's a sucker born every minute. (P.T. Barnum)

If you actually think that any terrorist would honour his end of a deal (nevermind expecting the deal to be at all reasonable) then you must be the most naive person ever born.

guguru,

Here is what happens when you bargain with terrorists-

Scenario: A terrorist blows up a bus in NYC. They say that they want Abdul-so and so released from Gitmo or else they will attack again. The Government gives in, and that terrorist group honors its word and doesn't attack again.

Group X (doesn't have to be Arab) sees that the government caves in, and low and behold they want something too. So the blow something up, kill some people, and give their demands. The government gives in.

Group Y sees that the government has given in to Group X and the other group, and low and behold they want something too. They blow something up, kill some people, and give their demands.

In other words, it would start (or continue) a never-ending cycle of violence.

Sort of like how it was prior to WWII. Nazis take Austria, the world doesn't care, so they don't do anything. Then Hitler takes Poland. Then France. Eventually he goes after his "allies" in Russia. You can't trust people like Hitler or like OBL because they won't honor their word, and even if they do you still have the dillemma that I listed above with group X, Y and so on.

"If you actually think that any terrorist would honour his end of a deal (nevermind expecting the deal to be at all reasonable) then you must be the most naive person ever born."

Well he offered it, so there can be a reasonable assumption that he might. Also I would like to see your responses on my post about your descriptsion of Muslim countries.

Cuse, that is appeasement.
The terrorists are blowing people up which is terrible, and then America responded by invading two countries, so now both sides have had thier fight, and it would be in the best interest of the world if they tried to have a peace treaty. And honestly, the main point of Osama's reason for attacking was that American troops leave Saudi Arabia.

You know in China way back in the day muslims committed terrorist acts. You know what China did? They killed whole villiges of Muslims and pretty soon the problem was solved. This is what my Chinese friend told me :).

This is a Stalinist way of solving problems and it works.

That's exactly what many in England thought before Germany invaded Poland in 1939...

Bottom line is it wouldn't work, so we shouldn't waste our time. We give in to terrorist demands and we will only create more terrorism.

We're creating more terrorism any ways but fighting them because in the process innocent people on thier side also die, then they get mad, more terrorists are made, then vice versa. ok this thread is over cause i think we have come to the conclusion that neither side will ever stop.
