A Congratulations is needed...

For Cavalier302. As of today, sort of officially tomorrow, and definitely officially as of next Sunday, he is a UVa grad. You've always been a source of info, and amusement, and I can attest to both during my application as a transfer some time ago. Good luck and hopefully you'll stick around on here and let us know what you're up to.

PS- thanks for that clicker bud!

Congratulations,Cavalier302. Son graduates on May 17th as well! All the best and let’s hope for good weather next Sunday!

It rained last year, it really sucked, they kept us waiting in the steps of the rotunda for like 30 minutes and we were getting really wet. My ceremony was supposed to be in one of the pavillions but it had to be moved to Maury (gross)…so hopefully things will turn out differently this year!

BTW, is that conservative Judge still speaking at the event?

Thanks! I’m glad to be done with the undergraduate stuff and I’m definitely ready to start working. I’ll miss the college lifestyle though. College really went by so much faster than I thought it would.

Yes, wahoomb, the highly regarded federal appellate judge (who attended UVa law) is still speaking at the graduation.

CONGRATS!! You might have covered this but any plans for the next phase yet??

Thanks, barrons. In august I’ll be starting as a management consultant in DC.

I’m going to graduation to see my friends graduate, but we’re all skipping out on the speaker…hearing someone giving young people advice as he justifies torture in his rulings, not my ideal graduation speaker, but whatever, that’s all I have to say about that.

The choice of the speaker is truly a shame… I think I’m just going to doze off the entire time he opens his mouth.

A lot of people are boycotting, f.y.i. Even when the speaker is decent, most people sit there talking and not listening, and those who want to actually listen can’t because of those around them talking.

For once I agree with wahoomb.

Cav congrats!

I can’t wait to see my D graduate! Actually I think you might have the same major as her…so maybe I’ll see you. I’ll be the mom trying not to cry.

Thanks so much cavalier302! I remember you from when I first started looking at this site… you have been very helpful in many ways. I hope to someday be graduating from UVA as well…Congrats :)

Congrats Cav302!! You’ve made me laugh much more than you know. You have always had a certain wisdom, poignancy, and sarcasm that when mixed together is…um…how you say…>>Cavalier302!
You’ve helped me bunches of time and now I’m already on my way to Third Year. OMG!
Best of luck to you, drop a line now and then.

Last year wasn’t that bad…although my roommate did let me share her umbrella  It wasn’t until later in the day when I was trying to load my furniture onto a pick-up that the rain really started to bother me!

I didn’t care for the speaker last year, I can’t even remember his name, but he was associated with Cornell and had been a visiting Classics professor here. I thought Sen. Warner did a good job for the '04 ceremony (when my brother graduated).

Anywho, congrats class of '09! Hopefully the rain will be cleared out for you in time!

Thanks again, guys. powderpuff, I’ll definitely stop in and offer advice to current and prospective students, the same way alums like Globalist so generously have for the past few years.
