a few low grades in GCE O' level exams- chances of Harvard/Princeton/MIT..?

<p>Hey guys!</p>

<p>I reallyy want to gt into Harvard ! I have always been getting amazing /highest grades in school. I took 13 subjects in O' level and got 8 A<em>s, but one D grade in statistics exam( I fainted during the exam and was going thru a trauma at that time)...and also got B grades in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. rest are all A</em>S in including Physics, urdu, english, sociology, environmental management, world history, additional mathematics, human and social biology.</p>

<p>I did O level in May/june 2011, so shud I reappear this october and if i get As in chem, mtahs, bio and stats, does that mean that my chanes of getting into Harvard/Yale/Standford/princeton/MIT be not so badly affected?</p>

<p>the Bs were mainly cuz I was going thru a family crisis then, so shud I reappear , get A*s and explain why I go Bs the first time, in my Common App? has anyone ever done that?</p>

<p>has anyone who got a few Bs in O level,g otten into Harvard/Y/S/P/M??? how about after reappearing?</p>

<p>I havent taken SAT yet, and I have great extra curriculars, I am currently supposed to be studying in the United World College ( UWC) in hong Kong on full scholarship and the visa is to arrive in late October so I am just waiting for it. I'll be doing IB there.</p>

<p>Please, tell me what you think about my grades crisis REGARDLESS of my extra curriculars and SATs/ recommentaions/essays ( OR assuming that they are excellent) PLEASE</p>

<p>From what I know, O level grades are past history by the time you finish IB. So don’t worry bout it and do your best in high school :slight_smile: congrats on your full scholarship to UWC!</p>

<p>Yea, your grades seem set and all with IB and stuff, but what about your ECs and achievements because everyone in Harvard and the likes have good grades. Those places look for achievements or other unique stuff like someone made a computer program, so that sets him aside. Someone held the olympic torch so that sets them apart. Because everyone applying will have the same top grades as you. So your main stuff left is basically ECs, your essay and how your app is presented.</p>

<p>I am kinda sure I have very good EACs…and they will get more impressive inshaALlah once i reach my United WOrld College…my EACs do show I have loads of leadership potential and capabilties, ALhamdulilah, and they do set me apart as whole</p>
