A few questions about the application and its process

Hey guys, I had a few questions.

  1. What qualifies as "scholastic" and "non-scholastic"? I've listed some math tournament awards and national merit semi-finalist as scholastic, and some school awards (harvard prize book) /club awards as non-scholastic.
  2. I've e-mailed my EC twice and called once (he didn't have a voicemail). Deadline is tomorrow. Suggestions?

The people who work in admissions may reply with definitive advice, but I would say that if you received the Harvard book prize based on academics, it is clearly scholastic. Club awards would generally be scholastic if the club is related to a subject, and I’d call them non-scholastic if the club did volunteer work in a hospital, worked for Habitat for Humanity, worked on a Congressional campaign, held bake sales . . .

My idea of a non-scholastic award is All-State First Team in soccer, or an award for horsemanship, or something that is not connected with school, except that the school may sponsor the team.

So Academic Games (which aren’t really school subjects despite the name) and chess awards are good for non-scholastic?
Do you think I should replace Harvard Award with my 4th place overall in the official state pre-calc test?
