A Gap Year

What are everyone's thoughts on taking a gap year? Do you know anyone who is doing it? Lots of people (frum yidden don't count--I obviously already know that lots take a gap year<---ignore this if you don't understand it)?</p>

<p>My friend is doing an art internship in New Zealand after graduating with an IB diploma. I think it's cool for laid back, free spirited people. <a href="http://gapyear.com/%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://gapyear.com/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>

<p>Tons of my friends are doing it. They got granted the deferrals from Amherst, Vanderbilt, Hamilton, and Dartmouth. They all are learning another language intensively, hiking the John Muir trail and Kiliminjaro (sic) and doing a lot of drugs. I'm quite jealous and they're all very excited.</p>
