<p>When I get mad I use my punching bag for a good 90 minutes, then go running for about 90 more minutes, then listen to music at a park, then wail on my bag some more and collapse. =D</p>

<p>Your parents are being unreasonable. Perhaps it's because they are not from here, they have naive expectations. Remember, you are doing something that THEY weren't able to do. They are placing tooo much pressure on you and seem to be wanting to live vicariously thru your life. (Where are you from?)</p>
<p>don't let your parents unrealistic expectations control YOU. YOU can be a success no matter what college you end up at. </p>

<p>As others have said, even if you don't get into some of your top choices, you can ALWAYS transfer later. People do that all the time! They go to a safely, get great grades and then transfer/graduate from a "name" school. The great thing about doing that is that you still get to say that you graduated from the better school!!!</p>
<p>thanks and btw my parents from Bangladesh......im not going to lie they did sacrifice a lot, but they are becoming really annoying lately and their expectations are becoming unbelievable...well my best choice is to transfer now...how soon will i be able to transer?</p>
<p>villageidiot, I also felt the same way about Rand and her work. Intellectually, it's possible to understand and even agree with what she says, but in real life I just don't think it's right or even applicable.</p>

<p>For what its worth, there are SO MANY this year feeling just like you, I know that horrible feeling like its D DAY. Hang in there, it WILL WORK OUT. You have to use the expertise of your college advisor and trust that they have your best interst at heart. She also told us all this morning that this is the hardest year she has ever had to deal with in terms of rejections and waitlists in all her 14 years of doing this and that says something, our very elite school has had some really bad situations, I mean I got into NONE of my reach and not all my Matches either..........it IS depressing. What are your options? Remember think AHEAD do not look BACK, life does have a unique way of working out, even if you have to go through a pretty tough road to get there.</p>

<p>I got rejected from my safety too (but got into one extremely reach one) so DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH! I'm sure you'll get into an university that'll you'll enjoy. My brother already goes to an ivy league so I didn't have to deal with all that crap... (if they wanted to use somebody to boast about, they can use him) I was an art major so my parents never drove me crazy...</p>

<p>well as you see, my sister is such about the worst student ever....so my parents are putting all their attention on me...my mom says " we knew about your sis, we wanted atleast one to be successful at academics" so they put so much pressure on me. i their last resort, as one of their child to be the smart one</p>

<p>actually hofstra i applied after i got rejected from bingh...which was around feb, so hofstra will take a littel time.
MAN I EVEN TOOK THE FUDGING IB PROGRAM, FOR UCB...IM DYING IN IB HL CLASSES, THE DARN WORKLOAD, ALL BECAUSE I WANTED UCB....MY GC EVEN TOLD ME THE IB PROGRAM CAN OVERSHADOW MY SAT SCORES...I CANT BELIEVE IT DIDNT......LIFE BLOWS....</p>
