Leadership positions: Junior class president and avid class president. In addition, I'm going to establish a program in my school that aids students in the SAT'S and ACT's. Also, i'm going tell a powerful/motivational speech to the future avid freshman(still debating whether to do it this year or next).
From what you read, I am a leader in my school. Not just because top colleges want that but because i want to influence those who haven't experienced particular tragedies. To leade those into a better future.

So what are my chances of getting into MIT, harvard, cal tech, brown dartmouth, stanford or any of the U.C's? Thank you once again.

Academics are fine. Extracurricular activities, did you only join from sophomore year? I assume that you’re a junior. The longest you spent in any given EC is 2 years which is still not much. SAT wise don’t count yourself in until you’re done. I’ve had plenty of friends feel that they could get solid scores and end up disappointed. Assuming your SATs go well and everything from here on out goes incredibly well, I’d say you have a shot. But don’t automatically assume things will go well.

^The student’s a rising junior, so it’s impossible for her to have spent more than two years in anything…

Junior Year is the most important year, and a lot could happen. As of now, gpa is lower, but improve the next few years, and you’re fine. ECs so far are not stellar enough for the top schools, but again that can change in a few years. It would also be important to provide your SAT which you have not taken yet…so show a passion for something, do things outside of the school that you’re interested in and so on next year.

It’s really hard to chance you without test scores, and don’t assume that you will score high just because you have good grades. Your grades are average, not that good however, especially since soph/freshman years are easier than junior year. I can’t really tell if you have taken the hardest classes possible. If you have that gives you a better chance, but if not then your academics are kind of weak overall. Your EC’s are good, maybe a little higher than average, but again they aren’t spectacular. Overall, I’d say all of these schools are reaches. If you are not taking the hardest courses possible at your school I would say that you have an extremely slim chance at any of the ivies/MIT. Post a new thread once you take the SAT/ACT.

Yes i agree. I’m doing my best to get a perfect score on both standarized tests. My calculus class is taking up the whole day. It’s good either way because the SAT’s has some sort of basic calculus.
Thanks for the advice though! :)

Okay thanks!

I hope you have a strong umbrella… jk ;)
