Thank you!!

Bump!

For the Cali schools you need to raise your SAT score by 150+ to be competitive, otherwise, all remain (low) reaches. Also you better have 2 subject tests with 750+ (One of them to be the Math 2).

@uclaparent9 I thought USC doesn’t require subject tests? I do have one, which is 790. But I don’t have a Math 2. Can this be counteracted by a 770 in SAT Math and rigorous math rigor?

If you are OOS for California, then take them off of your list as the public UC’s don’t fund OOS students. $55K per year. I don’t think they do Questbridge.

I am planning to take out loans for the UC’s. Also USC will give me 100% financial aid if admitted. Cost is not a concern in this case - thanks for being considerate.

As a Student, you can only take out $27K for 4 years. The rest would be through Parent Plus loans taken out by your parents if they qualify.

I have other means of paying the tuition. Cost is not an issue. I just want to know where I stand in terms of admissions…

Your stats are amazing and in your favor! It’s great that you were a questbridge finalist.
Georgia Tech is about a 70% chance. Your test scores are a little low for GT.
UW should be your saftey school.

Have you considered Vanderbilt, Emory, MIT, or Colordao School of Mines?

UC and UCLA in my opinon is about a 60% chance.

Please chance me back

GOOD LUCK!!!

@em1998 oh Vanderbilt!! Thanks for telling me; I am going to apply EA to there right now! As for MIT, I don’t think I will stand a chance  For the rest, I have no interest.

@uscthedream Vanderbilt only does ED, and they are finished with it. Also, you might like Duke University.

@em1998 is only half right - yes, Vanderbilt only has ED, but ED 2 has not happened yet so that’s still an option.

However, Vanderbilt’s ED 2 is binding, and with your great stats, you can get into equally prestigous schools or schools that you actually like better than Vanderbilt. Do not do ED unless you are postively sure that you love that school.
@collegebobcollege & @uscthedream

Questbridge will help a ton. Upward trend is great, I would be surprised if you didn’t get into most if not all of your schools. You’re clearly qualified, so don’t sweat it too much. Best of luck!

Please chance me back

Although the subject tests are not required for USC (as a matter of fact neither for UCs) but are recommended for most of those schools. Without subject tests (and high scores in them) you would be even less competitive!
(Contrary to some posters opinion here, I do not believe that you are competive enough for those schools, and unless you strengthen your stats somehow you most likely will not be admitted to them)

-Possible:
UC Berkeley
Olin College of Engineering
UCLA
USC
-Better Chances:
Georgia Tech
UW

Your GPA and ECs are your stronger points; You should raise your SAT to have a higher chance at any of the former schools. Coupled with a favorable essay/personal statement, you should be in good standing. Hope you get accepted :)>-

USC and UCLA are about a 50%

@em1998 I feel like you have some misconceptions about Vanderbilt here too. OP’s scores are great, but quite low for Vanderbilt, so they are unlikely to get into equally prestigious schools, which have similar scores. I think they have a fair shot at Vanderbilt and should go for it ED 2 as long as they are sure and can pay, but telling them they should shoot higher is unfair when Vanderbilt is already quite a reach.

I’ve been matched with USC for computer science!! Thanks everyone for the chance and hope you can all achieve your college aspirations! It was fun while it lasted collegeconfidential!!
