Ok having never studied in the american system and having lived all my life in europe I am pretty clueless about a lot of things. To help that, on my enrollment form I put that I wanted to attend the international orientation during which I guess they'll explain a lot of things I need to know. Is it true that I have to register on the net too?

Anyway, although I applied for CNTV production I got rejected and will be attending as an undeclared major. I had the opportunity to go to Tisch at NYU but it's not really where I wanted to be. Does this mean I have to do all the general education courses?

Considering I am going to re-apply to CNTV what are things which I can do to help my chances? What placement exams should I take? What the requirements of CNTV which I can fulfill right from my first semester? Can I take some film courses that can count towards a future film major?

Finally, will it be possible to double major or chose a minor which is also part of CNTV (I'd like to do production and screenwriting)

I will really appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. The great thing about USC and CNTV is that almost all of the courses which are non production are open to anyone in the school. You don't even have to minor in CNTV to take these courses. And for production, they don't really start serious production courses until junior year which is when transfers are allowed. However, they supposedly let USC students apply to transfer second semester sophmore year. So the best way to prepare to transfer is to get as many GE's out of the way your freshmen and sophmore year, which is what the CNTV students will be doing, and take any film classes you are interested in. I don't think its possible to major in screenwriting and production though cause they're both real demanding.

^ ok thanks for the info. For production you can't apply early than 2 semester of sophomore year? Nachotond1 seemed to be saying you could apply every semester if you were attending USC.

What are the GE requirements for the 4 years? I heard there were like 6 categories and you have to chose 1 course from each. Does that mean that by the end of senior year you should have done 4 courses in each category?

Huh. I saw the small size of the program as a huge positive for USC CNTV... To anyone who knows (tsdad?), does this mean large class sizes even in CNTV?
