a little help?

well I graduated high school 2 years ago.

decided to move in with my boyfriend at a pretty young age, away from home ( I now live in Texas)

got into college here but never actually attended any classes.

I am now 19 and really want to think about myself and my future.

I found a pretty good uni in california.
Considering I have no family here, i wouldn't be leaving much behind.

Will financial aid and student loans ne enough?
considering i would need housing as well =/

where should i start??

also … am i too late?

will I be too old?

no, you can do it

no way to you being too old… a lot of freshman are 19…

You’re definitely not too old, but you’re going to have to consider your financial situation…

Hopefully the college will offer you a decent financial aid package, but realize that you’re probably going to have to pay for your education entirely in borrowed money because there’s very little chance that the college you go to will give you enough money (even with loans) to actually pay for the whole thing. This means you’re going to have to go through a bank to get the rest of your loans, but for that you may very well need a cosigner.

I’d go to your bank and ask them what you should do to pay for college. Hopefully they’ll be able to give you some advice.

Consider your detour on your way to college a “gap year” (something well received in Europe and becoming more so in the States) and go for your goals!

No, you aren’t too old.

If you are under 24 and a dependent according to FAFSA, your parents’ income will determine the amount of federal and need based aid you are eligible for. Independent/ dependent student info can be found here: [Independent Students](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/help/fftoc03k.htm)

California has a high cost of living, so you might want to consider investigating other options. Plus, different schools give different financial aid packages.

Oh, and once you know what school you are attending you may have more options for housing than you think. You may be able to be an RA on campus eventually, or find a cheaper off campus apartment. Or, you could be a nanny/ caregiver for the elderly or the disabled in exchange for housing.
