A long shot?

Hello all...

I wanted to know from any TCNJ student/alumni, specifically Communications majors, how well the Communications program is? I know this school's more popular areas of study include Bio, Business, sciences and Education and understand it is very competitive to get into. The thing is, I hear this a lot from popular majors as stated above, but am not sure exactly where the Comm program stands here.

Right now I am a Communication and Journalism dual major at a county college. I will only be transferring my one major though.

As of right now, my grades are so/so. I have decided to retake any class that is below a B to get them from C's to A's (they were cake/intro classes, when I first entered I had no idea what I was doing in college at the time) So I pretty much have a good direction academically speaking.
What I worry about right now are EC's. I played softball 2 years back in high school if that counts for anything (although I doubt it) I also am an on-air DJ at my county college and also help work on production. But the thing is, when I'm not on-air or in class, I work (which is how I'll be funding my education) so I don't have time to participate in a bunch of activities, nor do most of them interest me enough to stop working or take away from my studies.

So aside from my initial question of how the Communications studies worked, what does it take for a transfer student to get accepted, aside from a good GPA (and a strong essay, letters, etc)? How competitive is it for Communications majors?

Thanks in advance.
