One of the things I try to do in December is post a Christmas related quote on my FB each day. It’s nice to have the happy “memories” to look back on and it’s fun to look for something meaningful each day.

1214mom - i LOVE playing pickleball. newbie here. we’ve not played outside since the cold hit.
This is exactly what i was going to say on this thread. I find joy in playing this new sport to me; inside drop in hours are very social so far. I look forward to the days i play, and it does bring me joy.
** i am 55; one of the younger ones at the local community centers. but man - i want to be like some of those old farts who play into their 80s. it’s truly been a joy starting this.

I love seeing our cats sitting by the Christmas trees. They love having trees in the house! Fortunately, they leave them alone (unlike my 2 year old GD!).

My M-F daily breakfast. I eat the exact same breakfast each weekday, you would think it wouldn’t thrill me each time, and yet…that first spoonful is magic every time.

ok, prepare to be underwhelmed, but I just love it. Homemade plain greek yogurt over a bowl of raspberries, blackberries and blueberries (Costco frozen mix) and topped with a bit of homemade granola.

Christmas music. I have some cd’s that I love - the Charlie Brown Christmas, She & Him, Rat Pack Christmas, Judy Collins at the Biltmore - we played them for the first time this season last night and…perfection!

Now that it is finally cold here, I am joyful for the late afternoon cup of tea I have with D17 when she arrives home from school. She’s the youngest of four and only one still at home. When her siblings were still home, weekday afternoons were busy as I was always racing around to pick up carpool or attend someone’s game, etc. It’s nice being able to have some relaxing downtime with her before she heads upstairs to start her homework. I didn’t have that opportunity with my older three.

Having my 2 morning lattes while sitting at the table reading or browsing on my ipad instead of having one while I hurry up and get dressed and the other while I drive to work brings me much joy.

Tonight after working a smile was on my face as the temperature was 46 (!) for my dusk walk - a favorite time to walk all year but especially this time of year when people have holiday lights up!

We watched Ticket to Paradise at the theater for the second time this afternoon - this time taking along our youngest and his wife for a “double date” night. I had a lot of joy watching them both laugh and enjoy themselves. I knew they would love the movie as much as H and I did, still, it’s nice being right and enjoying the time with them. I’m glad our “kids” still genuinely enjoy doing things with us.

My joy is finding a tennis court not taken up by pickle ball courts! I like playing tennis.

A friend of mine lives in Florida, but she comes to my state a couple of times a year. It’s always a joy to get together with her.
Funny part is we also get together with another friend who lives here. The other 2 of us talk about getting together more often, but we don’t do it as much as we should, until our out of town friend comes in.

My 7 month old grandson taking a nap on my lap brings me joy. Nice to be a grandma and not have a million things I should be doing while baby naps.

I love easing into the week with teleworking on Monday. I get to sleep an hour later, enjoy a homemade latte, avoid two hours of commuting, and fit in a dog walk before it’s totally dark. Every Sunday evening, I am grateful for that option.
