If i get into Brown! I’d love to know the ins and outs of cars though. I just got interested this year, I’ve been trying to immerse myself in car mags … but when my friends talk about engines and stuff I feel so completely lost. :(

Smilemyonly ^ Same here. A couple of my friends are super into cars and whenever they start talking about cars I’m like, “Uh, yeah… I totally agree.”

Hopefully we both can get in…;)

What do you want to know about engines? Maybe I can help, I’m not the best at engines and whatnot, I know designing cars (my hobby ). I’ll do my best, shoot!

@rchhay: Haha, reminds me of this assignment I had in English class. We had to think of an essay topic to write, and then we switched topics with somebody. This girl who had no clue what I meant by, “What is the Significance and Beauty of Supercars?”" LOL, her face was soooo funny that I did laugh and her essay was horrible. I was hoping that we didn’t have to switch topics…

car enginess. ha i wouldnt even know where to begin.

but anyway i was talking to my friend today he was telling me how porsche 911s are used as cop cars in germany or something. i would so want to be a cop i germany! lol. and apparently vw gtis are used in dubai, those are pretty nice too. a couple of my friends have gtis. not really my type though.

My friend has a GTI, swears it’s the best bang for your buck. You know that Volkswagen & Audi are the same company, right? Audi A3 & GTI are the same car basically.

Yeah, in Italy, there are 3 ceremonious Lamborghini cop cars & Greece uses BMW for cop cars. Greece also uses Mercedes for heavy trucks (like garbage & ‘big rigs’ as southerners say lol) & taxis. Taking a ride in a Benz from the airport is pretty cool, especially when it’s normal! ;)

Not surprised about 911s in Germany, I mean I would demand one if I was a cop there haha ;)

Europeans are so lucky! Here cops are just stuck with Fords, lol.

Oh yea the Audi & VW thing I knew. My friend was saying how this one guy was a ‘dubber’ (idk if they use that term in the south!), I was like ‘he drives and A6,’ haha then he looked at me funny and told me. VWs are alright though. I like cabs, andi guess the new eos’s are alright.

What?! My God, those cars are much too nice for policemen… I should get one. Haha.

the Eos is basically an Audi TT I think…gotta check that out…

Haha dubber, don’t here that too often lol. Actually, first time I heard it! ;)

Porsche will soon be a part of VW because the head of Porsche stepped down after 18 years, leaving path wide open to have Volkswagen, Audi, Bugatti, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Porsche all in the same company. Wonder how those supercar battles will be like with all those marquee brands in same company…;)

It is funny how American police are stuck with the ‘bad Fords’ whereas over seas they have some really nice Ford products. Only in our messed up world…

@rchhay: Haha, Europeans always have everything better…:P

rchhay, just what i was thinking!

i will never understand what’s up with car companies uniting and disbanding! idk, does it affect the brand that much anyway? Well anyway Fords are alright I guess, it’s all about shelbys though. :)

Car companies do that just to share coveted technology (Toyota selling hybrid technology to Porsche, Ford, and Nissan), make $$$ (VW partnering w/ Chrysler for rebadged minivans/small cars; Fiat tring to partner w/ Chrysle to make more cash), and one-up competitors.

Also, it depends on if brands want bragging rights to the best brands in the world, which VW/Audi seems to be trying to accomplish. Corner avery market so their competitors have no way to beat them. Fiat (aa small car producer) owns Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Ferrari. GM had Chevy, Cady, Olds, GMC, Buick, Opel, Holden, Daewoo, Pontiac, Isuzu, Saab, and Humme at one time. Ford used to have Lincoln, Mercury, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Volvo.

@smilemyonly: Haha, old Shelbys (and new ones) rule. OMG, I think I love you! :)

Oh wow, I didnt even know all those car companies were together. I have so much more to learn! I know about mini coops & BMW, though, haha. I don’t like mini coops though they remind me of beetles, which I dislike equally as well!

Shelby GT500s are amazing though! This kid from my town (I dont really know him) has a '68 i think, not too sure of the year, but around there. I basically swoon whenever I see it!

Yeah, several car companies forge alliances for world domination! Lots of changes happened to that list though, as GM has only 4 brands now & Ford sold Jaguar/Land Rover to Tata & Aston Martin to an independent firm. BMW used to own Land Rover, but sold it to Fod years ago. I think mini coops are cute, although they do have Fiat Panda (Italian)/ VW Beetle look to them. I would never buy one, but they sure do look fun!

I can’t believe it! He has a '68 GT500, that’s worth several hundered thousand dollars! I consider it next to priceless, 2nd best muscle car (to original Shelby Cobra lol). I would loooooove to have that car I bet it’s uber loud! Yep, I am in love…;)

My brain sort of spaced out thinking about all of those car companies. Gosh, they’re a complicated bunch.

Fast cars = best sound in the world. :)

But if I ever owned a Shelby or well any other racing car it would be so useless, I’d be too scared to race. I dont want to get arrested! Haha, my friends sometimes invite me to meets though, but the real racing is done on the highways around here. Omg, I was like freaking out when I was in my friends GTI, I got used to it though still dont think I’d be much of a racer though . :)

Haha, they’re pretty wiley! It is really complicated world out there! At least you have some cool info to sound smart when your friends talk about cars haha! :)

Rchhay, i havent even heard of some of them! Tata & Aston Martin? Fiat Panda? Never ever … haha. :)

Oh, fast cars sound unbelievable. I saw a new Msaerati Gran Turismo on TV, and that baby puuuuurrrred! On the highway one time, I saw a Ferrari 550 Maranello whose engine was wailing! Sometimes when I’m really bored I listen to exhausts on youtube (I know, I’m pathetic: youtube car sounds & CC…)

I wouldn’t let ANYBODY touch my Shelby, that would be my baby I wouldn’t race it unless it was at an elitist Shelby Club rally, then it’s okay. Also, take it to tracks or drag racing competitions…that car would be sooo fun! My friends race on highways too, but I pray that they are always careful!

Tata is the #1 car manufacturer in India (home of the $1k car lol). They build small vehicles, and we’re looking to go upmarket by snagging Jaguar/Land Rover. Aston Martin (Bond cars) is owned by Prodrive. The Fiat Panda was the Itlian equivalent of the original Mini Cooper (thik like 85 mph top speed, TINY interior) :)

A couple of my friends youtube car sounds too! Haha i made fun of them saying they were the only ones who did it. Guess not, lol. Oh yea this one dude I know has a civic (eww, lol) its sounds so freaking amazing though … loud as hell! We can tell he was coming from like a mile away! But he had to get a silencer because the cops were always on him, :(.

I’ve definitely heard of a lot of them. I’ve heard of just plain Fiat, is that related to Fiat Panda, or possibly the same thing?

I’m actually not the biggest car fan, so unlike you two I would stay away from the super fast cars, haha. :') Environmentally friendly and practical for me… Yay.
