A...p

Hello, my two AP grades this year: US Hist 5 and Spanish Language 4...my questions are: how much impact do AP scores have on college admissions? more important than SAT II's (?), does getting a 5 and a 4 help my chances at all? and, can I send my AP scores without sending my SAT and SAT II? (I much rather send my ACT and AP scores...)

These questions have been answered hundreds of times throughout this board. Heck, one of the featured discussions is "How much do AP scores matter?"

Search around!

um, well could you summarize the answers for me...I mean answering if you can send AP's without sending SAT's is a yes or no answer...

We could hold your hand and summarize everything for you, or you can take a couple minutes and search for the answers yourself. Nobody uses the search feature anymore these days...

It varies from college to college. A lot of colleges accept the ACT with writing in place of the SAT I, but I haven't heard of any colleges accepting AP scores over SAT II scores.

hm sorry, I was not clear in my original message, what I wanted to know is which one is more important in the admissions process, ap scores or sat ii scores?

Well it depends. Some colleges require you to take the SAT II's, and in that case, it is important to do well on them. I have never heard of a college that needs an AP test for admission, but I have heard of an SAT II requirement.

and when I say can I send them on their own I mean when I send my AP's do they automatically send my SAT I and SAT IIs

I'm kind of confused on what you're saying...sorry. If I have what you're asking right, no college board does not send SAT I and SAT IIs when they send AP scores. They're completely different tests; they're just produced by the same organization.

thats, yeah that was my question

you can't send 3 AP test in place of 3 SATII's if that's what your asking.

also, people say that AP scores don't matter in admissions, but i beg to differ. If AP courses are suppose to be first year college courses, then it seems that the colleges would look heavily on AP scores. After all, one of the main purposes of the SAT is to see how you will perform in college.

As far as UCs are concerned, SAT IIs seem to have much more weight than APs (With UCs, it seems APs are only meant to help you get an extra boost or so, nothing major).
