<p>I'm beginning senior year in high school and in the process of college applications. I'm currently debating on what my chances are for acceptance at these colleges</p>

<p>my list of prospective colleges (in order of preference):
Brown
Stanford
CUNY Honors (Baruch)
University of California (Berkeley or LA)

<p>I'm pretty sure that I can't make some of the Ivies I mentioned, but I'd regret it if I didn't give it a shot.</p>

Location: New York
Race/Gender: Asian/male
Prospective Major: Medical/business related
Unweighted GPA: approximately 3.95-3.96 (my school doesn't do unweighted, though)
Weighted GPA: 4.0+
Class rank: 9 of 898 (top 2nd percentile)</p>

<p>SAT I Scores:
SAT I Math 670
SAT I Critical Reading: 690
SAT I Writing 580
SAT I total 1360/1940
I know, horrible scores. I plan on getting each section to 700+ on retake</p>

<p>SAT II Scores:
SAT II Biology 740
plan on 750+ on math IIC, Chemistry, and US History</p>

<p>AP tests:
AP Biology 5
AP chemistry 5
AP US history 3</p>

<p>College transcript with 2 A's (psychology 100 and pre-calculus)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
-300 hours service at local hospital
-60 hours at senior center
-approximately 50-60 hours at Cornell medical center
-teacher for a day at a local elementary school (taught 3rd graders economics)
-member of key club (school service club) for 3 years
-Self studied Japanese for 2 years (teacher recommendation from college professor who helped me in her spare time)
-Also, recently at my high school my teacher started a volunteer program. Since I already volunteered at a local hospital at the time, I suggested that students could possibly volunteer there. My teacher was interested in the idea, so I called up the volunteer supervisor and told her what my teacher was doing. Afterwards, she called up my teacher and arranged a meeting. Now, approximately 20 students volunteer on weekdays at the hospital during the school year. Does this count for anything?</p>

<p>classes in:
9th grade - all honors classes
10th grade - all honors + AP Biology
11th grade - AP chemistry + AP US history + all honors courses
12th grade - AP Physics, AP calculus, AP European history, AP English, College level spanish, rest at honors level</p>

<p>I'd really appreciate the help. My guidance counselor is a pain in the *** and won't really help me.</p>

<p>You're going to have to cram in a lot of tests in order to retake/take SAT/SAT IIs. What will you do if your scores aren't what you project?</p>

<p>You could say that you are the co-founder of a volunteer group, I think. That's what it sounds like to me.</p>

<p>You should have a decent chance at many of the schools, but I"m no expert at chancing.</p>

<p>I'm taking the SAT in october and SAT II in november (applying regular decision). I'm confident in my Chemistry and US History SAT II. not as sure on the math IIC.</p>

<p>Also, for the SAT, I screwed up on the writing and math sections (don't know why, but i was exhausted that morning)</p>
