A quick question about transferring and GPA

I attended a 2 year JC before transferring to my current school. Obviously, for class rank purposes and other such considerations, my previous grades effectively do not exist. Is that also the case for applying to law school? My 2 year grades would bring up my GPA by a fair bit.

Additionally, I went to school at a different University 8 years ago fresh out of High School and did very poorly. A couple of those credits are counting towards my degree. Will those grades affect my GPA?

On one hand it seems intuitive that those grades, from an easier school, do not count. On the other hand my courses at my current university are all upper level degree specific, and are much harder. If I had attended this school for the classes I took at the 2 year, my grades would have likely been similar.

Thanks!

The LSAC will average out all grades from all universities attended. Whether they count towards degree is, I believe, not relevant -- all university courses count. Schools will, of course, be able to see where you did your courses. It is up to them to decide what adjustments, if any, they wish to make.
