A quick reminder to all

hi everyone,

it’s been a while since i’ve used college confidential, but since my younger sibling is currently going through the process right now, i just wanted to post this…

the entire month of march will feel terrible, but trust me soon it’ll be over. y’all should be proud of getting through this huge stressful yucky mess that is the college admissions process. it’s been two years since i did it, and i would never ask to experience it again. so good job. seriously.

another thing to keep in mind is that everyone ends up where they’re meant to be, and i really do mean this. when i heard this in my senior year i was like, yeah right…but it is true. so take everything as it comes - where you go to college does not define you (quite honestly how/what you do at your school is more important).

lastly, if you are admitted into tufts this month, congratulations  i myself cannot believe it’s already been two years here, and although i do not love tufts 100%, it has given me opportunities to connect with professors and students who are much more intelligent than i am and learn from them / become a better person. i do not regret going to tufts. yes, it is hard (for some, like me), but the experiences i have gained here are worth it.

best of luck.

Just curious as to what you have liked and not liked about your Tufts experience. Would appreciate your feedback

@ParentFL Hi! I really enjoy Tufts’ academic rigor. For me, it is hard enough to keep me busy and immersed in school 90% of the time (for this each student may vary because I know kids who breeze through the classes I struggle in and vice versa). For the most part, I really like my professors. I’ve had some bad profs here and there, but overall they’re good. Stuff about Tufts that I don’t like (these are subjective): the tuition, diversity, there’s not a really coherent sense of belonging on campus because I feel tufts is kinda cliquey, sometimes the classes are unnecessarily large, sometimes you will run into those really crappy professors, etc. I feel like these grievances are pretty normal for any mid sized private school. A more personal downside of my Tufts experience is that the Music department isn’t all great as I thought it would be. I was in the orchestra for a few semesters, but no one had time to care about the music and orchestra is a team effort, so I left to pursue my own music activities outside of Tufts.
